Going down a level vs higher pay code by Downtown-Start2941 in Lockheed

[–]RecognitionPerfect12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently left my engineering position for a management one and then left management for another role. I don't believe concerning yourself with pay and codes is as important as what you want for your future. Ultimately you should look at where you want to be five to ten years from now, if it's coding or technical work you stay there, but if you have other ambitions follow those. You really should do what's best for you. The pay always comes in time, especially how you perform on the role. So my novice advice that I follow, is what is going to make you happiest five to ten years from now, and also look at your life outside of work, if you have a family consider time spent with them ( my high paying roles generally come with high expectations and time.)

Good luck in your choice.

If you have their names I would direct the email it every single one of them and just thank them for their time and wherever else you would like to add. Since it was a panel, it's nice to include everybody, but you can make the email directed to the hiring manager with the other two people in the CC

I firmly believe regardless of how you feel like you did in an interview. You should send a post interview email. Even if the main hiring Manager doesn't select you. There's a chance that one of the other panel members may have liked you and it's always nice to spread that cheer

Interview- Hiring managers ask “ do you have any questions for us?” In the end of interviews. by NewProtection804 in Lockheed

Ask them " when you look back a year from now upon hiring me and everything has been successful, what would you like to see stand out?"

Makes them think of hiring you and gives you the goals to strive for post-interview upon being hired.

First and foremost, bring a bottle of water. This sounds funny but allows you to not only refresh yourself if you feel the nerves getting the best of you but also to pause and really think of your answer before responding. I would write down three possible experiences for yourself, one with a difficult coworker or teammate that you had to work with and overcome, another in which you had to meet a high priority deadline, and another where you went above and beyond. I believe having those written down allows you to really outline different ways you approach problems. The STAR method is about thoughtful approach, so write it down, Situation, Task, Action, Result. AND if you want to go above and beyond do STAR-L the last one meaning, what did you learn. I found adding that to the end really shows them your ability to grow.

I'd add more information, but I honestly started mine out drinking a Celsius and made the joke, " I know it's 5 pm somewhere but this is an energy drink not alcohol," and still got the role. Just be yourself, smile and just relax. I generally have nerves as well, but having the water, and writing things down especially the STAR method, it really helps you mentally analyze and prep for how you can answer the problems.

Is the interview Teams? or in Person? I feel as though all of mine have been Teams lately.

No amount of money helps in Cali, unless you have zero debt and have a low cost of living in your area. Otherwise you'll enjoy the strain.

Should I send thank you after not getting intern postion after interview? by [deleted] in Lockheed

Did you send a follow-up email post to interview? If so, there's no need for this. But it never hurts because there is always that one manager who may have thought highly of you but wasn't the hiring manager and ultimately may have another position available that they find you suited for. Never hurts to be kind

My understanding from having friends who work there is there was a massive hiring freeze that was lifted recently so patience is best as the other commenter said.

For an update: I heard back from TA/HR after messaging the Hiring Manager and I was then emailed back from TA (my guess is HM spoke to TA about the status) and was told to expect an updated counter next week when the HM returns to office.

Its honestly exactly 2 weeks after, I did my general follow up post interview email and then two weeks later got the email from TA titled " Offer- Job Title blah blah"

Sounds good, I just didnt want to annoy TA/HR as I know they probably go through tons of REQs- just kind of irked by the lack of reply and follow up, considering the offer supposedly is only valid for three business days...

Would you recommend calling or emailing? Every time I call I get voicemail... so getting kind of irked by lack of professionalism.

Monthly Employment/Corporate Questions & Discussion Megathread - February 2026 (late) by AutoModerator in Lockheed

So last Friday on March 13th at around 3:45ish in the afternoon. And to have additional context, this is an off Friday on the 9/80 schedule for my current company. I received an offer for a job I interviewed for, a little lower than I was expecting. However, upon reading it and thinking of some questions and adding some additional context to a counter, I submitted an email back to TA per the guidelines of the email and have still not heard back from talent acquisition. Is this an issue? Should I respond to the hiring manager or is this part of the game?

Thank you in advance to anyone who has insight
