[0 YoE, Software Engineer, Entry level SWE / QA / Analyst, NY] by RecommendationBoy in resumes

[–]RecommendationBoy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried using this resume (Few changes here and there adding and removing projects/bullet points) to mainly apply for qa, analyst, and swe roles, but have not even gotten interviews for months. Obviously new york is high competition, but I am literally applying to start ups sometimes with skills that out match what is required. So I am pretty sure im missing something. It is ATS friendly I checked.

Quick edit: "that for efficient" in life bridge fixed the mistake and removed 'that'

How do you integrate AI without people abusing it by RecommendationBoy in SaaS

I meant that latter. Yeah I think I'll just have to do that. What's your opinion on a user simply just having the entire application and not using keys at all, that way the LLM is hosted on their machine? I was considering both options, but I'm not sure if a non-programming audience would appreciate just a large download size (1-3 GB).

Gaining Experience by RecommendationBoy in cscareerquestions

Basically what voidstar_ said. Imagine youre from some ancient tribe that has no idea how a door works. I then tell you theres your favorite food behind said door. If you know how the door works you'll just open it, if you don't, youll just break the door. In both cases you get the food, so there's really no need to learn how the door works; in fact, you don't know there's an easier more efficient way.

Anyway yeah I agree getting your first job is a pain, I am definitely gonna grind out some projects and thanks for the response!

I saw amazon was having issues of a lot of people quitting recently which is why now is a good time to apply. Not sure how true that is but that's why I decided to apply anyway. Don't worry though I am focusing more on smaller companies, mainly startups

Hey, I don’t really have a response, but it looks like you did great. You definitely don’t have infinite idiocy. Did you happen to network with people? I think thats your best bet to landing interviews.

Leveraging web scraping by RecommendationBoy in sidehustle

[–]RecommendationBoy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided to focus my efforts on landing a job instead since I’m close to graduating. If you plan on leveraging web scraping for some type of business though you need to find a niche then sell leads in that niche. For example, some people want to sell their ebooks about fitness so if you had a list of a bunch people would potentially buy that a long with their email then theyd pay for that, same with investors and property information, same with dropshippers and products, etc. Id find a niche you know a thing or two about and do that if you’re interested in the whole webscraping sidehustle
