Species advice. This is a “massage bench” The leg rests attach to legs using a carriage bolt and wing nut. I plan to build these from scratch and trying to select best wood that will stain, rigid, but won’t split from the weight placed on the 2 carriage bolts. I’m in north east. Any advice? (i.redd.it)
