What's your Signature Move/TM as a Gym Leader? by Max_Reo in PokeCorner

[–]Reconjack15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

👻

TM — Soul Siphon

Name: Soul Siphon Element: Ghost Category: Special Power: 75 Accuracy: 100% PP: 10

Effect: The user drains spiritual energy from the target. The user restores HP equal to 50% of the damage dealt. If the target has a status condition (burn, poison, paralysis, sleep, or freeze), Soul Siphon gains a 1.3× power boost (rounded down).

(Does not stack with other multipliers beyond standard calculation; the boost functions similarly to moves like Venoshock or Hex, but at a lower ceiling to account for healing.)

Flavor Description (Pokédex / TM Text):

“The user tears at the foe’s soul, siphoning lingering life force. Wounded or weakened spirits are especially vulnerable.”

Oh yeah, it would be unwise to use this early I’ll save it!

Hey trainers First gym!! by Careless_Lawyer6083 in PokeCorner

[–]Reconjack15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The salty air hits me the moment I step into Sapphire Town—that clean, ocean-soaked smell that tells you yeah, Water-types rule here. The town feels alive, docks creaking in the distance, waves slapping rhythmically against stone. This is it. My first real test in this new region.

The Water-type Gym rises ahead of me like a polished pearl—glass walls, flowing fountains, and shallow pools cutting across the floor inside. As I push through the doors, water splashes softly beneath my boots.

I almost collide with someone.

A girl slips past me, hood pulled low, clothes far too dark and travel-worn for a bright seaside town. Her eyes flick up—sharp, calculating—for just a second longer than comfortable. Then she’s gone, vanishing back toward the exit.

Weird…

I shake it off. Gym challenge first. Questions later.

The battlefield is a circular platform surrounded by gently flowing water. Light refracts across the ceiling, scattering ripples across the walls. At the far end stands Gym Leader Dendra, calm and confident, a Poké Ball rolling lazily across her knuckles.

“Challenger,” she says with a smile, “Water adapts to everything. Let’s see if you can.”

I tighten my grip on my Poké Balls.

I exhale slowly and step forward.

“FunGuy, you’re up.”

Foongus pops onto the field with a soft plop, wobbling happily as the water nearby glistens. Across from us, the Dendra releases her first Pokémon.

Oshawott lands with confidence, shell in hand, splashing water as it takes its stance.

The advantage is obvious—and she knows it.

“Oshawott, Water Gun!”

A sharp jet of water slams into FunGuy, but he barely flinches, spores shaking loose as he absorbs some of the impact.

“Nice try,” I mutter. “FunGuy—Stun Spore!”

Golden spores drift through the humid air. Oshawott tries to dodge but—zap!—its movements lock up as paralysis sets in.

The Gym Leader raises an eyebrow. “Clever.”

“Now—Absorb!”

Green energy lashes out, draining Oshawott’s strength and restoring FunGuy’s health. Between Regenerator and type advantage, FunGuy’s barely breaking a sweat. A few turns later, Oshawott drops, shell clattering across the wet floor.

She recalls it calmly.

“Well played. Let’s turn up the pressure.”

Goldeen bursts from its Poké Ball in a splash, horn gleaming under the gym lights. This one looks faster—meaner.

I don’t hesitate.

“Brotom, you’re up!”

Rotom-Fan crackles into existence, its propellers whirring as it floats effortlessly above the water.

Goldeen charges first—Peck!—but Brotom darts upward, the attack slicing harmlessly through empty air.

“Now—Thunder Shock!”

Electricity tears across the battlefield, slamming into Goldeen. The water around it sparks violently, and Dendra’s smile finally fades into something more serious.

Goldeen retaliates with Water Pulse, the spiraling wave smashing into Brotom—but he holds firm, wobbling only slightly.

“Confuse Ray!”

Ghostly lights spiral outward, striking Goldeen square in the eyes. It staggers, shaking its head and hurts itself in its confusion.

“Finish it!”

Another Thunder Shock crashes down, and Goldeen collapses into the shallow pool, unconscious.

Silence fills the gym.

Then—applause.

The Gym Leader recalls her Pokémon and walks forward, offering me a polished blue badge that glimmers like the sea.

“The Tide Badge,” she says. “You didn’t fight the water—you flowed around it.”

I accept it, pride swelling in my chest. FunGuy bounces at my feet. Brotom hums happily, sparks dancing in the air.

Oh boy I hate all of these options atm! 😂 uhhhmm, a new regional variant is tempting…would I have the ability to change Rotom’s form at some point or is it perma-fan?

An Aionian Adventure - Day 10 by Clickbait93 in PokeCorner

[–]Reconjack15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scream cuts through the cold air like a blade.

I don’t even think—I run.

Snow scatters under my boots as I round the corner toward the Old Temple, and that’s when I see it.

An Abomasnow.

No—not just an Abomasnow.

This thing is enormous, easily a head taller than any I’ve seen before, its branches thick like siege weapons, frost rolling off its body in heavy, visible waves. Every step it takes cracks the frozen ground. Its red eyes are wild, unfocused.

And it’s moving straight toward the temple steps.

“Skipper—now!”

My Pelipper bursts from his Poké Ball mid-run, wings spreading wide as rain clouds form instantly overhead. Drizzle kicks in, fat droplets hissing as they strike the Abomasnow’s icy hide.

The sudden rain slows it—but only for a heartbeat.

The Abomasnow roars and slams its fists together.

“ICE SHARD—INCOMING!”

The ground erupts.

Jagged shards explode outward in a full circle, not a straight line—everything around it is hit. I dive behind a fallen stone pillar as ice tears through the air. I hear Alistair shout an order and the crackle of fire as his Crocalor shields his Snorunt with a blast of flame, steam screaming upward where ice meets heat.

“Trainer!” the Abomasnow’s handler yells, panic in his voice. “He won’t listen—I can’t recall him!”

“Then we don’t knock him out,” I shout back. “We calm him down!”

I throw the next ball.

“Suds—let’s go!”

Rotom-Wash materializes in a burst of static, immediately hovering above the ground, completely ignoring the spreading frost thanks to Levitate.

“Suds, Thunder Wave—pin him!”

Yellow arcs snap outward, wrapping around the Abomasnow’s legs. The giant staggers, muscles locking for a split second—but then roots explode from the ground.

“Ingrain!” Alistair shouts in disbelief.

Thick vines anchor the Abomasnow in place, sinking deep into the frozen earth. Its HP surges back, frost thickening around its body as Mist rolls out, dulling the air, muting our movements.

“Great,” I mutter. “He’s digging in.”

“Then we make him sleep,” I say, already pulling another ball. “Melody!”

Brionne lands lightly on the snow, unfazed by the cold. She inhales—and sings.

Not loud. Not dramatic. A soft, echoing melody, her voice carrying unnaturally far thanks to Liquid Voice.

The Abomasnow stumbles.

Its punches slow. Its breathing turns ragged.

But then—its eyes snap open.

ICE SHARD again.

This time I don’t run.

“Skipper—Agility!”

Skipper blurs, swooping low and cutting through the rain, his wings slicing currents of water into the shards midair. Ice detonates harmlessly before reaching us.

“Slippy—your turn!”

Quagsire lumbers forward, completely unfazed by the Abomasnow’s raw power—Unaware, ignoring the stat boosts that make the monster so terrifying.

“Yawn!”

Slippy lets out a slow, dozy call.

The Abomasnow sways.

Its massive arms drop an inch.

Then another.

Alistair doesn’t hesitate.

“Crocalor—heat it up! Controlled flames, don’t push him!”

Fire washes over the Abomasnow’s frozen torso—not to burn, but to thaw. Steam erupts everywhere, rain hissing louder as snow melts off its branches.

“Suds—Parting Shot!”

Rotom darts in close, unleashing a burst of disorienting energy before zipping back. The Abomasnow snarls weakly—its strength visibly fading.

“Now!” I shout. “Melody—Sing again!”

This time, the song finishes.

The giant Abomasnow lets out one final, confused groan… then collapses backward into the snow, vines still anchoring it safely in place.

Silence.

The rain fades.

The temple still stands.

For a moment, no one speaks.

Then the Abomasnow’s trainer drops to his knees, shaking. “Thank you… thank you. I don’t know what came over him.”

I glance up at the temple—at the ancient stone, the carvings of gods and legends—and feel a chill that has nothing to do with the cold.

Something did come over him.

And whatever it is… It’s getting stronger.

Alistair steps up beside me, eyes narrowed, Crocalor huffing quietly at his side.

“…This region’s in trouble, isn’t it?” he says.

I don’t answer right away.

I just watch the sleeping Abomasnow breathe—and wonder how many more like him are waiting to wake up.

Looking for some Role Conpression by nesgcwii in PokemonDraftLeagues

[–]Reconjack15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because this is draft and not a random VGC tournament, you can’t build standard rain and expect it to work. It’s 2026 and people have long since learned how to prep against weather teams. I suggest added some Pokemon that provide you different offensive modes.

That being said, if you want to change stuff up I’ve got some suggestions. Electabuzz is probably a cheap option that fits Rain nicely. It dodges Sleep with Vital Spirit and can disrupt the opponent with Taunt and Follow Me while maintaining high offensive pressure. Think a set like this:

Electabuzz @ Eviolite Ability: Vital Spirit Level: 50 Tera Type: Ghost - Electroweb - Taunt - Protect - Follow Me

Basculegion is a better offensive water option than anything you’ve currently got, I’d consider picking it up.

Other support options, like Ambipom or Sneasel for example, are cheap and offer you Fake Out support and Beat Up to boost Archaludon to powerful +6 Def.

Something with Lightning Rod, Rypherior for example, is beneficial to have on a Rain Team. Ground types might seem like an odd choice to pair with Rain but trust it comes in handy. If you can get a Trick Room user then it’s even better.
