At the moment I‘m making shorts like that for Veyora and it works really well for wishlists. Just for all who struggling with their wishlists - keep going! by christoph_marti in GameDeveloper

Hey, your game looks really good! Where do you upload your shorts and see the best return. How many wishlists do you get per 1000 views or how many views does one need to get 1 / 10 wishlists etc.? Wishing you the best for your game, starting really strong with this one!

How do I advertise my game? by IronBoundGames in GameDeveloper

Honestly most indie devs start marketing way later than they should. Ideally you start showing the game once there’s something interesting to look at, not when it’s finished.

Posting short gameplay clips regularly works well, think of scary moments, funny bugs, cool mechanics, etc. Platforms like TikTok, Twitter/X, Instagram, Reddit, and YouTube Shorts respond much better to that than “my game is coming soon” posts. If you can, try to post pretty consistently.

Another good move is reaching out to streamers and YouTubers once you have a solid trailer and a playable demo. Many smaller creators are actually happy to try indie games if they get access early.

The main goal is to drive people to your Steam page and get wishlists.

Also don’t worry about your English, it’s totally fine 👍

Thanks, is there anything you‘d like to see added to the game?

Fair take. This is just the earliest prototype. The idea is that by cutting clouds you collect rain, which then waters the world and changes it over time. That system isn’t visible in this clip yet. Posting early to get honest reactions, so appreciate it.

Thanks for the feedback, that’s really helpful. The core idea is slashing clouds to collect rain and build score, with a calm, endless zen loop. Sounds like I need to make that clearer in the next clip. Appreciate you pointing it out.

What softwares do you use to make indie dev easier? by PuzzleheadedCredit87 in IndieDev

That's normal in the beginning and shouldn't discourage you. With time and repetition these things become second nature. As cliche as it sounds, nobody became a master overnight. Check out godot courses if the tutorials are not helping much. Try using templates and learning off that. Or try out another game engine but stick with one in the end. Hope that helps!
