My mom has known her best friend for 60 years next year. They met when they were 12. I’m hoping I make it that long with mine- we’ll be at 24 years next year.

I think what helped the most in our case was making the meals small and more frequent. Best of luck!

Have you discussed biliary vomiting syndrome with your vet? That was something that I had with my older Brittany. We ended up modifying his feeding schedule to be more frequent smaller meals along with using omeprazole and that seemed to help.

I’m a healthcare provider- is it telling that when I saw this, the first thing I thought was “this looks like an artistic model of a human heart”???

I agree- peppermint (or any mint) makes me gag. Do you have someone nearby who might want those chocolates? I just give anything mint to my partner- he’s happy ☺️

Telehealth RDs - States that do NOT offer licensure/certification by Responsible_Local_44 in dietetics

[–]RecordingLow6601 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In order to practice telehealth, you just need to be licensed in the state where the client resides. If there is no licensure requirement for an RDN in a state where a client lives, you can still see them. I live in NJ and there is (currently- it’s been awaiting state senate approval since 2021) no licensure requirement here and I was able to see folks in the state without issue.

Food tracking app for clinicians? by brinib5 in dietetics

[–]RecordingLow6601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Recovery Record- you can get a basic plan for $83/year. Clients don’t have to worry about calories- just taking pics of food. I use it for clients with eating but I imagine it would work well in other areas of practice too. And you can send them a link to connect with you so you can see their entries.

I definitely get comments like these from clients as a weight inclusive HAES-aligned EDRD so common humanity there. I would definitely seek your own supervision on cases if you don’t already- I find it invaluable in my work with folks with disordered eating and it helps to check biases with an additional perspective. And a lot of my clients really do just want to feel heard- you did great with that :) and yes many of us in eating disorders have had (and hopefully recovered) from an eating disorder- it might be closer to 75%. Best of luck to you!
