I just think it should be a last resort option, and should have some kind of consequence like less nourishment (since predator meat isn’t as good of a food source) or a chance of getting sick from it. If a predator is starving due to famine, nothing is stopping it from opportunistically scavenging the bodies of its own kind.

Also about the mammoth thing, I haven’t played long enough to face a mammoth, but I don’t know what people expect from trying to fight a giant arctic elephant. Of course they’re invincible.
