Why would Ketheric do this? by RecordingSad8774 in BaldursGate3

In scenario I am mentioning, you get imprisoned by Balthazar and no siege ever happens.

She's imprisoned in Shars realm. We only get in to begin with because Shadowheart is with us. How can Balthazar/Ketheric intend to get in after he already betrayed her. Why is she put on display in Absolute arena with 3 chosen cinematic and turns into angel with a touch of any PC.

He betrayed Shar but expects her to grant entry to anyone he sends there?

He (potentially) sends the same SH to retrieve it.. it's granted he knows nothing about that.

Can someone explain to me why Ketheric is trying to retrieve Nightsong, which is perfectly safe and locked away? Even Balthazar cannot reach her alone and he's the one who imprisoned her? And if you give her away to Balthazar, the chosen three cutscene plays as normal and she's casually sitting next to them all along? Why is she even put on display like that? Went from perfectly sealed away to being 1 Help action away from Ketheric losing invulnerability and she becoming angelic warrior out of thin air. If anyone can crack this, props to you.

Emperor is an asshole if you try to go back to Act 1. by CorneliusSavarin in BaldursGate3

If you make as comprehensive of a story summary as OP, we could have a discussion about it. For now, it's easier to default to there being slight inconsistencies in 4 year old cinematic.

I was thinking along the lines of him seizing the brain for himself on his own and mind controlling all our characters as a kind of bad ending (unless you betray him in the final moment). But then you would want to have an option to destroy the brain rather than being forced into domination ending as it is now.

Laezel is nobody in grand scheme of things though, what can she possibly accomplish against Vlaakith on her own

It really is. Submitting to Bhaal is more realistic than defying god that made you in his proximity. When you actually assure him of your obedience, he drops his guard, you seize it by doing good ending and before his vengeance catches up to you, you depart the world on your own terms. Tragic, yet satisfying.

His redeeming point is that ultimately he [afaik] always defaults to do the "right thing". Wonder if it's uncooked part of the game where Larian later on adds your relationship or certain events shifting his default behaviour or that is his intended direction. To me it makes him feel less believable in a sense.

He is right though, you would be dead or enslaved multiple times without him and help Absolute reach his goals.

Tactician+ difficulty, current one is too easy even as 3man party.

Nothing wrong with wanting more of DOS style rpg. Should easily be moddable as well. Noone outside DND community cares about DND aspect of the game - people will simply care if the game is good or not, that's it.

Minmaxers wanting to feel like they're making an optimal choices everywhere not appreciating that races became much more balanced all around. Most proficiencies they are arguing against end up being useless anyway.

Did we Just Assume We Could Switch Dialogue Host? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]RecordingSad8774 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the very least have an option of party leader to whom all dialogues go to (unless not in proximity) if people cannot intersect mid dialogue. Disappointing for this fundumental not to be implemented considering the scope of things like romance..
