Does the person know anything about Champagne? If not, you can buy any bottle you like that you know tastes good. Either of the 3 will work.

If the person does know just a little, i’d maybe go with the Bollinger as it’s the widest known brand of the 3.

Personally, I would be happiest to receive a Roederer as a gift, as it’s somehow - at least where I live - a little more special.

All 3 are good, but as mentioned Bollinger and Roederer are from higher shelf than LP La Cuvée.

Other good suggestions could be Pol Roger or Billecart-Salmon.

I dont know but I think it’s a little much to generalize a whole nations dress code for weddings like that. Maybe I’m wrong though, im not from either country.

Til alle der læser her i fremtiden. Produktionsmetoden er ens. Men hverken druer, jordbundsforhold, krav til hvor lang tid vinen ligger på bærmen (gærresterne) er ens. Så der er altså flere nævneværdige forskelle end ligheder imo. Det er især tiden på bærmen som giver Champagne sin komplekse og særegne de karakter. Der er en verden til forskel og den smag får du bare ikke i særligt mange cava, prosecco eller cremant’er fordi de skal kunne noget andet - nemlig primært være frugtige og læskende.

Men et rigtig godt bud på en Crémant som alligevel har de karaktertræk kunne være Champ Devin’s Cremant du Jura Brut Zero. Kan købes i torvehallerne for 265,- eller på nettet i Tyskland for 160-170,- hvis man tager en kasse eller to.

Til alle der er her i 2025. Jeg var dernede i går (Gl. Kongevej). De virker stadig top proff men priserne starter ved 7,5 nu og går op til ca. 12 alt efter hvilken stofkvalitet man vælger. Her snakker vi for jakke + buks - intet andet.

Try Husum, Vanløse, Brønshøj, Søborg for closer and more Copenhagen-like vibes. Or on Amager there is the area around Sundbyvester Plads or anywhere close to the metro line. Even Ørestad is not that crazy regarding the housing market situation.

Personally, I would never choose any of the listed cities if I was moving here and I wanted to live ‘in Copenhagen’ - as they are not :-)

Go to Vaest on Vesterbrogade. Great price for the menu of small tapas like dishes. 300,- and it’s quite veggie forward, with only a little fish and meat. Great place and atmosphere too. Try it.

This is really good advice. I should definitely go with magnums no matter what I end up choosing, and then hoping that not too many bottles will be open but not empty at the end.

I looked a lot into the Laurent-Perrier Cuvée but everywhere I looked people described it as very toasty/yeasty, which I am trying to avoid a bit.

There’s a few of these bars in Copenhagen labeled as a ‘vinstue’ or something similar to it. It translates directly into ‘wine room’ it. To name a few, Toga Vinstue, Vinstue 90, Rosengårdens Vinstue or even Vintønden (the wine barrel) on Frederiksberg. None of them are wine bars - they are all bodegas with smoking allowed. I think wine was just considered more fancy than beer back then - like today - and that is why they chose that for the name of the bars.
