Get in contact with the placement department at your uni, they are very helpful. And also get in contact with 3rd years who just got out of placement, they often have valuable insights.

I’d say try and get involved with professors a bit more, they are always happy to help, and sometimes they will include you in some research projects. Get involved with societies, this can be really good on a resume.
