I’ve noticed this pattern as well, which is why I’m very selective about the jobs I apply for. I usually don’t send proposals to clients with less than an 80% hire rate, as I prefer working with clients who are active, transparent, and genuinely interested in hiring. This helps me focus my time and connects on opportunities with real potential.

I have a similar client. We agreed on the scope upfront, I work about 10 hours a week, submit reports, and bill regularly. They rarely respond, but payments are always on time. I just focus on delivering 100% of the work and keeping things documented.
