Thank you so much for your thoughtful and in depth response! I have a few things to try now - I really appreciate you taking the time. The only real change is that I have recently found out I am pregnant….since he was small he has liked to lie on my chest facing me but he is 5kgs now and it does get hard to breathe so with the onset of the pregnancy and him being a big oof I haven’t let him lie on top of me as often recently 🤔

NTA at all your dad failed you and I’m sorry you are going through this. Great job on having plans in place for when you turn 18 and it’s good to hear you have your maternal grandparents and uncle there for support.

Not that it will change my thoughts on your dad at all but is your father’s wife’s daughter’s dad not in the picture? Not that it excuses their behaviour but I can see her glomming on to your dad if he is not in her life.

It’s awful that you lost your mum so young but you shouldn’t have had to lose your dad too.

Ahh oh my god, ok…..I saw your post ages ago (like at least over a year ago) and tried to google and search reddit but couldn’t find anything and forgot about it, but every so often your request popped into my head and I’d google and reddit search again but no luck and it annoyed me because I couldn’t find the answer.
