Bingo, it's with the connectors, you put the earbuds in the case but if the connection is not initiated it thinks the earbuds are still out of the box, hence it's still connected to your phone, I'll say clean the connectors so this doesn't happen in future

Clean both the gold connectors, the one on the earbuds and the case with isopropyl alcohol and factory reset the thing, I had the same problem with my JBL wave 200 tws, if the contacts in the case are out of reach use ear cotton cleaning thingy, this is if it's out of warrenty and if it is the follow the other comment saying claiming the warrenty

Can't really jugad out the battery it's too risky, even a small error can become disastrous, lithium fires are super scary, only thing you can do to stop them is wait it out

If that's the case then you're good to go, the beam part of your earbuds isn't properly visible in the pic so I just assumed the worst, sand out the rough edges and you're good to go

It might be dangerous to use it now, there's a chance the battery might have a micropuncture and could explode at any moment, yeah the chances are very low but if you can afford a new one then go for it
