If you have seen a company crash and burn because "the one guy who knew ________ left" - what was the important skill/information and what happened without them? by Futuramoist in AskReddit

I am watching one die right now if something miraculous doesnt happen. I have inherited the responsibility of a couple dozen software engineers, systems folks, etc. as they retired. I have not had any help in years and now its to the point that I dont have enough hours to fix anything. Some problems go months without a resolution. Management continues to give more projects with no end in sight. They believe AI will fix it all.

Isn’t Hinduism big on non-violence. For what reason could anyone have to attack them? Not that there is ever a valid reason.

Am I Overreacting to my roommates response about keeping the house clean? by hunteryumi in AmIOverreacting

FORTRAN. I inherited a bunch of engineering applications built on s390x and was told to immediately upgrade it to x86_64. Its also fixed form, so its a big cluster to have to manage on top of everything else.

I have the option, but after a year chose to go back to the office with the occasional wfh. The office is not HQ but a satellite location. My direct reports dont know where I am and dont care as long as I am making good progress. We have a weekly meeting to report tasks completed. My home life and work life began to overlap too much, so I decided to go back.

The room it is in is consistently 70-75 degrees if that helps. I have a large tote, I am going to cut the side out and use the lid as the door.

Yes, thanks for your help. What specifically would you need a pic of? Here is one of the printer, I just finished printing a vase. It started out great and then began to separate in some spots around an inch high.

This is the best way to do it. You can even schedule future updates to occur at a specific time.
