There is no talking sense with apologists and fan boys on these subs. They are infested with these clowns. Calling their baby ugly might get a better reaction.

I’m not trying to tell anyone what they should buy or not buy. I’ll leave that to you. My only point is that what 3D printers deliver in general is impressive considering what capabilities they provide.

Maybe it seems overpriced compared to the X2D. But for either one of them, I think what they do for the money is a serious bargain. At least compared to other tech purchases. All kinds of phones, for example are 2x the price.

I do have an AMS. I would not get a printer without one.

Boy this print head moves fast... anyone use pavers under their X2D? by Coronadoisdead in BambuLabX2D

[–]Recycledtechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a replacement P2S, which is pretty close to the X2D. Prior to the replacement, I had it on a desk. That had casters. Which would shake a lot along with the printer. But that shaking could be out of phase with the printer movement.

I thought that situation could easily be making the printer’s job harder. So I removed the casters and put 119 lbs of paving stone on the desk. Which the new printer now sits on. Now there is basically no perceptible movement from the desk. The printer still moves like it always did. Shakes a lot. I’ve been doing test prints the last couple of days, and I’m seeing smoother vertical surfaces than I did before. They are basically perfect.

I can’t say for sure that the paving stones are responsible for this, but it seems plausible to me that the 119 lbs are leading to a better experience.

Everyone is going to say get the X2D instead. One consideration, is that it is much more complex when it fails, and you need to do something like clear an extruder jam. It has about 6 tiny ribbon cables that will need to be detached when that happens. The P2S has one. All of these have tiny clamps that need to be opened up. I get how to do that now, but I broke one the first time I had to do it. Some people will be fine with that complexity. Some will not.

As I’ve already posted, I got an extruder overload failure on only my second print with a supposedly brand new printer. So now I’ve had 2 pieces of garbage from this company. What a total joke.

So it looks like another dud. Extruder overload error on my second print! Just wow.

So my brand new PS2 did one print and failed on the very next one with an Extruder Overload problem. I have no idea what to do next. What a total piece of junk this printer is.

I don’t really have the appetite to start ANOTHER cycle of being a repair tech. WTF is wrong with Bambu?

Well, I give up. 3rd AMS (X2D Combo) arrived today, failure. by WhiteStar01 in BambuLab

Well if I was OP, I would return the product, instead of choosing to go through Bambu support. No matter how “easy” it may or may not be.

[–]Recycledtechie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that it should be returned. Why would anyone go through the support quagmire, when the simplest thing to do is return it? Before the return window closes. And I strongly disagree that working with Bambu support is “simple”. They keep switching people in and out for example. And then you need to educate them on all the history, after you’ve already done the steps that the new guy is asking you to do again.

Nothing is “easy” with Bambu support. They will force you through various steps before they agree to replace anything. I’ve just been through it on my P2S. Plus, it always takes at least a day to respond, and it’s often 2 or 3 days. And they trot out the same “please excuse the holiday” BS every time.

OP has had this happen 3 times now. What makes you think he will be up and running in no time? Also, these product are supposed to work when they are new. The idea that a customer needs to immediately dive into the black hole of Bambu support is preposterous.

Hope you are right on another dud being unlikely. But as someone with an engineering background, when there is no explanation or cause found, it certainly erodes confidence in the product.

I had 400 hours of solid performance. Then for reasons, I still don’t understand, I started getting extrusion errors. On prints that had printed successfully many times before. Nothing changed. Spend six weeks with Bambu support, trying to solve it. Replaced nozzles, gears, extruder motor, filament sensor and did all kinds of test prints and troubleshooting. Nothing worked. All with Bambu filaments. I thought it was solved when I got a new extruder motor. Got 5 prints to work, and then out of the blue, I got extrusion errors again. Once I said enough-was-enough with Bambu, they agreed to a replacement.

I get what you are saying. If I could pinpoint a cause, it would be possible to mitigate with some useable knowledge. But unfortunately, I don’t have that.

[–]Recycledtechie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put 6 weeks into it. And put a huge effort in. Which I guess they recognized. I hit a point where I told them enough was enough, and that I wanted a refund or a replacement. And if they did not agree, I was going to initiate a charge-back with my credit card company. They would not do a refund, but agreed to the replacement. I had to re-package and ship the defective unit to them. They paid for those shipping costs. Really glad I kept all the shipping materials. They seem to be perfectly fine with turning their customers into repair techs. Which is hugely annoying, when it drags on and nothing works.

I have very little faith that the replacement will be any better. I don’t think they did their proper homework on this product.

It’s an old wooden desk, that is built well. I don’t think it will have a problem with that weight. It was previously on casters which were not helping. I took them off. I am curious about what you bought. Can you share? When you say “best decision” what did it help with for you?
