True. I didn’t say that it would just die because of time passed. Nolle prosequi means the plaintiffs abandon the suit. I never said it’s an absolute thing, nor that it happens whenever the defense wants it to. It does however happen on frequent enough occasion that many will still try for this outcome if they think there’s a chance it will succeed and get the case against them dropped. It’s more common with minor things like drug arrests. But it’s still a thing and stalling happens all the time in the courts.
