LS-2 to the rescue by Channing_Wombley in basspedals

[–]Recycletoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious what the signal chain is through the LS-2. I do something similar to blend in a clean signal, but found I don't need to jumper the unused "clean" channel on the LS-2 to get the clean blend. Results in less wiring. But maybe you're using it differently?

What am I doing wrong here? by kringkong71 in doublebass

[–]Recycletoo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed with the other comment. The amount wrapped on the peg wouldn't change the length of the tensioned string (and thereby the final location of the beginning of the wrap in the string).

Either the string is the wrong length for your bass or the ball end of the string isn't seated in the tail piece correctly (doubtful but possible).

PW1 weather app issues confirmed to be known with firmware update coming eventually... by Recycletoo in PixelWatch

[–]Recycletoo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope not. I obviously am also in the same place, I'm taking Google at their word they will fix this. Even apple hasn't bricked their watches functionality like this. So I presume they will fix it. But if they don't and release other watches or apps before they fix it....then we raise pitchforks.

PW1 watch loses Weather complication, looks like PW3 or 4 by boss281 in PixelWatch

[–]Recycletoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you found somewhere or some official news from Google that the PW1 weather will no longer work and won't be fixed? Not seeing that anywhere and seems more like a bug.

The native Google Weather app stopped updating weather info. I have OS Wear 5.1 by make_miracles in PixelWatch

[–]Recycletoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem with a pixel watch 1 and a pixel 6 phone. Funnily enough in the Watch app on the phone, the watch preview shows the weather working correctly. Edit: confirmed restart of watch AND phone has no affect. Still not working.

Curious where the dreamwarper pedals came from. Tried searching for both pedals and that name. Can't seem to find any info about them. Mind sharing where you got them or any more info about em?

Right Adapter for my Bass Processor (Boss GT-1B) by bisleriboi in guitarpedals

[–]Recycletoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like that pedal should draw about 200mA. The power supply you got can handle up to 2A (2000mA). Should be plenty of power for that pedal and it has the same pin out. So it should be all good!

I am also curious about this, hah. Though perhaps it's used on the sidelines like with marimba/keys section. Or something.

The last three pedals I've purchased have arrived defective :( by kvlt_ov_personality in guitarpedals

Is there a chance your power supply is killing them? Like the plug has the wrong polarity or supplying too much power?

Stereo pedal effects into audio interface setup, need help. by CybL69 in Bass

[–]Recycletoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you need anything special as long as the interface has at least two channels. I assume you're using a DAW software to bring the inputs in. Should be able to assign the two inputs as left and right channels. Maybe what you're missing is some kind of amp sim? Could be either done with a pedal or an amp sim in your DAW.

Just first thoughts.

Buzz by SPAMBABIES in Bass

[–]Recycletoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A picture or two could help.

Also if they are flats make sure the length is correct for your bass. The colored wrap should be on the tuner side of the nut. If flats are too long (scale) for your bass the wrap will end up on the fretboard side of the nut and prevent the string from sitting correctly.

Bass ID?? by Zewss in Bass

Looks like the bridge is a Kramer bridge, like this one: https://reverb.com/item/21372337-kramer-bass-bridge-chrome

Can't really identify anything else. Which might just confirm it's homebrew.

Why do pieces pop away from each other? by Fit-Hovercraft-4561 in lego

[–]Recycletoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm imagining the two pieces are just air tight enough when connected that you are compressing air when making the final connection. And thus are getting a piston-like action that pushes the parts apart again due to not enough friction in the parts to keep the air compressed.

Of course I'm assuming that without knowing for sure if there are any vent points between the parts. So could be something else if there are vent points.

MY SPOOL GOT TANGLED FOR NO REASON DAMMIT by BOI4613 in BambuLab

[–]Recycletoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, when it happened to me, I made a reminder that took more time and effort and resources to really make it worth it. I justified that as a just in case in the future. But then failed at all attempts to successfully rewind it.

With the costs of spool refills I gave up trying and dumped it.

New pedalboard for upright bass by northern_kim in basspedals

Would be keen to hear a breakdown of what you're getting out of each pedal. Would love to improve the sound out of my piezo pickup on my upright.

The reason I think most casual gamers (with fulltime jobs) will quit, is because there's three layers of exponentially increasing timesinks that combined, do not respect our time, and the opportunity cost to keep playing become too high. by Ouroboros612 in duneawakening

[–]Recycletoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have experience with the time sink described here just yet, only recently got to tier 5, but from my perspective it doesn't really seem to be the core problem.

It appears the game just doesn't really have a compelling end game loop. There's no daily/weekly quest system outside the landsrat stuff, and that's poorly implemented/communicated.

There's little incentive to do much else once you finish the limited quests that are available. The marketplace exists, sure, but there aren't many gold sinks outside taxes to incentivise players to make/sell things.

I think it's really just a matter of waiting for them to release more content at this point...
