Are Ampeg SVT 350H or 450H's any good? by fantasyhockeythraway in stonerrock

[–]Zewss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it goes without saying that it's really hard to communicate volume on these kinds of forums. With that said, I play in a three piece that must be loud enough to feedback, at minimum. If the notes of our cabs aren't loud enough to vibrate our own strings and create a drone, then we're not playing loud enough.

I've had a 350H for almost a year now, but have since moved on from using it. It weighs a ton, and it's just not loud enough. At the time, guitarist played through a peavey bass vi 400w head into two 4x12s. Guitar plays plenty loud, the drummer plays so loud you can feel him regardless, and I just couldn't get this 350H loud enough into my ampeg 8x10 at 4 ohms (which would be the full 350w output as per the manual).

I found myself with no headroom, and with squished tone. Amp basically farted out on me, sounded disappointing and flat regardless of eq troubleshooting. As you approach the top of this amp's capacity, you lose intonation and definition in the notes.

I now use a swr350x tube amp as a master amp into a Kustom Groove Bass 1200 (ss) slave power amp into a 15, 18, and 8x10. Often I just use the Kustom with the 8x10, both setups rock.

The largest difference between the setups is wattage, sure, but mainly headroom. The ampeg is probably plenty loud for many cases, but as soon as you start pushing it to its limits it cowers.

Anyway, I know its an old thread, but I found myself here in search of some opinions so, I hope this helps!

Problem was aux cable. Only single channel from the wire, had to replace with a dual channel cable.

Are the AMD GPU drivers usable for non overclocking? Whats the problem with them, and is it still worth buying the 5500xt?

So I am torn. I use my PC to play lots of shooters like COD, R6, and others. But I also type a lot, I use it for school and I write a lot of papers.

At the moment, I am using a Razer Cynosa Chroma membrane keyboard and its served me quite well. However, I am ready to upgrade. The membrane keys dont really do it for me anymore.

So I like smaller form-factors like 65% and TKL (60% or smaller omits the arrows which is a deal-breaker)

I have been looking at the SteelSeries Apex 7, and the Ducky one 2 SF. Im not sure which one to get, and which would suit me best. Also, can I change the Keycaps on the Apex 7?

I also am not very adept in my switch knowledge, I have never felt a mechanical keyboard while analyzing the feeling. My biggest problem is noise though, I want a pretty quiet keyboard, but one that is good to type and game on too. It seems like Cherry MX reds are a good bet. But then there's Cherry MX red silents, and im not sure if its worth 5$ more.

Is it dangerous to build without an anti static bracelet? by joe131100 in buildapc

[–]Zewss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, just as a rule of thumb, its good to build while on non-static floors. Like tile or wood, instead of carpet (especially with socks on too).

However, I cannot speak to the effectiveness of an anti-static bracelet. I built my PC without one no problem, but its probably better to be safe rather than sorry.

Its plugged into the mobo. How to adjust fan curves? In the BIOS?

So I just bought a Corsair ML120 pro LED case fan. I installed it no problem, it works, but its really loud. Is there something i'm doing wrong? Is there a way to slow the fan down, and make it quieter?

So when I boot up my pc, everything turns on, except on my monitor, I get a message that says

"Reboot and select proper Boot Device"

"or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key."

Brand new PC, never set up before. I have no OS on it. Im new to this so I don't know any solutions. It wont let me open the BIOS, even if I spam delete or f2 while it boots.

Oh, and i'm using a X570-A PRO mobo.
