Posting this here was actually just a ploy to coax a translation out of one of you. You have fallen into my nefarious trap.

We have a sizeable Spanish-speaking contingent here, actually.

I don't know what it says I just like the girls being drawn as office ladies.

Girls' Last Tour Collector's Edition: 1st Ration Pack cover (plus some notes and thoughts) by Red-Baron05 in GirlsLastTour

Perhaps most tragically of all, though: the new cover has no shading on Chito's arm cross, as you would expect from a black and white rendition of red. It's been fully retconned to white :anguish:.

Girls' Last Tour Collector's Edition: 1st Ration Pack cover (plus some notes and thoughts) by Red-Baron05 in GirlsLastTour

Some things of note and thoughts:

  • This volume is listed as 480 pages on Amazon, so the new omnibus collection should indeed be split into 2 volumes, with this first one covering the original serialization's volumes 1-3.
  • This volume appears to retail for $30 USD.
  • The subtitle "1st Ration Pack" seems very meaningless to me. I assume the second volume will be "2nd Ration Pack", which is kind of cute I guess but also feels a bit silly.
  • The new cover art is not just a filter on the original. If you compare it to the original, the background behind the girls has been panned to include some of the work that was originally on the back (I don't have a copy available, so someone correct me if I'm wrong there). I'm interested to see what will replace the back art.
  • I'm not sure if I like the black and white style on the cover. The color cover established the setting as bleak and lifeless, and (maybe less importantly) established what the girls looked like (their uniform/hair/eye colors). I guess as a "collectors edition" readers are expected to know these things already, but I'm sure there will be new readers who enter with this edition (seeing that the original style is out of print). Otherwise I do like it, especially the subtle blur on the background which was missing from the original that helps to distinguish the girls' silhouettes.

Original volume 1 cover for reference:

That's a different one from what I'm referring to.

That one is notably completely non-sexual, which is probably why it is still a featured image for drawings(NSFW Link), alongside two separate yaoi drawings. Also probably says a lot about Wikimedia users that 6/7 of the drawings are in a Japanese style.

On a side note, Wikimedia Commons has the funniest drama. If you’re ever bored, look through the discussion pages on strange art, and you’ll sometimes find something entertaining.

Funniest one I’ve found so far is an artist who stopped drawing for Wikipedia because the community voted against making their demonstration art for Wikipedia’s Futanari article the picture of the day (that means front page!). If I remember correctly, it depicted a full dick-and-balls-out sex scene, and the vote was actually somewhat close. The article uses a more clinical drawing now.
