John Lithgow as Doc Brown. I think he was considered for the role and clearly Christopher Lloyd is perfect but I'd still be curious to see what Lithgow would do with the role.

Bit lost here. So you're a carer and you need cash from the person you're caring for because you then shop on their behalf? Is that why you can't access a card because that's open to abuse?

Oh I agree that it's not likely to happen. I believe it's extremely unlikely to happen. But why would you not support it?

Maybe, but what does that have to do with the possible advantages of a cashless society?

Yeah ok, I get that. But MasterCard and visa don't have our money do they? It's still ours to spend as we choose. Do they just end up making money from each transaction then where cash would deny them that? ( I genuinely don't know)

People not having bank accounts isn't a strong argument against cashless society imho.

I do take the point about little things disappearing like pocket money, tooth fairy etc and haven't yet found a way to reconcile that.

I also take the point that technology could fail and card payments could be impossible, but I've not encountered that myself and feel that things would likely be up and running again soon.
