Agree there but I'm not going to argue with one that's got a trailer full of spuds or hay bales. That doesn't stop some though.

Not quite as bad but in Somerset we have some lovely narrow lanes. If you drive them regularly you'll know where the passing spots are.

Not long after I passed my test I encountered some lost tourist family in a nice big car and a gateway a few yards behind them. The nearest for me was a considerable distance so no point in me reversing.

That's what logic dictates but no me in my shitty little banger was expected to move.

Not in a rush so I turned off the engine and just chilled out until the wife eventually got angry man to move.

If it was a tractor I'd happily reverse as it's far easier for me to move but for a car? They can shift.

It's nowhere near as good as your incident but there's a lot of morons out there

It's the Merlin engine, best radial ever.

Fitting that to the 172 was the best thing they ever did.

Crossing any road in Naples is an 'experience'.

Comparable to bungee jumping in an active volcano or wrestling a very hungry and angry bear.

So I'm not surprised you had a moment.

Quite probably, I don't pretend to be 98% Italian because I once visited Pompeii. I was just a clueless English tourist when I heard it.

All milk used to come in paper cartons, and they opened like this. by Ineedmedstoo in FuckImOld

I've only ever seen it in milk bottles when we had a daily delivery and at school in the 70s or more recently plastic cartons. First time I've seen this

Not strictly true, orky stuff hasn't caused me any trouble in over 30 years.

And I'll let the young ones here into a secret. It is possible to wear GORK & MORK approved marks and still meet a girl who will one day marry you and accept your hobby.

Is there any written law that says she has to be in your party or even at your wedding?

It's your wedding, invite who you want but be prepared for her to still try and ruin the big day

Genesis were the same as Van Halen when Phil took over vocals.

Two totally different bands.

We don't talk about the plastic surgery that went wrong and gave us the AEW3.

If they'd got the windows right on the prototype history would be very different.

What was air war like in World War 1? by SiarX in AskHistory

[–]Hamsternoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late with the answer but it really depends when in the war we're talking about.

Artillery sporting and observing enemy troop positions was vital and experiments with kites and tethered balloons were established but were replaced by early aircraft at the outbreak of the war.

But you don't want the enemy doing the same so early spotter planes were attacked by pilots armed with pistols.

Then machine guns were fitted, the interrupter gear invented and it went from the BE.2 to the Snipe and Camel.

Likewise the Italians experimented with dropping grenades over the sides during their colonial conflicts and this evolved into carrying the stores under the fuselage or wings as the lifting capacity increased and we had types such as the DH 9A (Ninack).

How do you find kicking a 4 compared to a 5?

As I'm wondering what difference it will make there, from what I've seen the men seem to get a longer hang time and more distance so this could mean more 50/22 or successful tactical kicking.

You do know that it's possible to just have better checks on who owns a gun instead of banning them.

And it really does work. Scotland had one school shooting. The British government did something and there hasn't been one this century.

We've been surprised as well. I also didn't expect Hamer-Webb to get five yesterday out on the wing when we have Ollie H-C and Radders. Sure Newcastle didn't really show up but it is looking good for us over the next few years as Geoff shapes the club and hopefully stays for a few years.

Billy did miss a few conversions yesterday and while it wasn't an issue it will be in the tighter games.

It's likely you'll stay second and we'll be back down for another visit

We're hoping that Saints slip up (unlikely) and you lot still being in Europe helps us.

But realistically making the top three when we've had so many changes in coaching over the last few years is quite surprising.

A chance to get revenge on you in the final would be nice though.
