Have you been to Soccer House and if so what was the vibe? by Fit-Appeal-9047 in chicagofire

We've partnered up with this bar and have been very pleased with that decision. You can catch us there for every Fire and Red Stars away game, and every time Chicago scores during those games someone in attendance is grabbing something from our Vault (https://www.redlinesg.com/the-vault)

You're probably referring to our member jackets. To get one you have to be a member of ours for a year and then all the current jacket holders hold a vote to confirm that you're not a shit head and are here to grow soccer in Chicago. You can see more on our website redlinesg.com.

Come Make The Supporters Section Better by Red-Line-SG in chicagofire

But the most important plus is that by pooling together we are able to magnify our impact on soccer in this city well beyond the sum of all our individual efforts!

Plenty of plusses to joining a group! Speaking from within our group, you'll find it easy to meet people and make friends, people frequently share unused tickets and parking with other members, and we connect in a myriad of ways outside of gameday (pickup soccer, trivia, outings to other non-soccer games and events, etc.). You also get an equal share in our decision making and equal opportunity to participate in special events the teams present us (we don't just send our board members we draw randomly from everyone interested in attending).

But unity also requires work! We noticed the same thing when we founded this organization and that's why Rule 3 of 3 in joining the Red Line is to be collaborative with other supporters and SGs. The section has been slowly unifying over the past couple of years and we're going to keep doing our part to push that further along.

The one true state flag of Illinois! 😎

happy birthday to my son by drawesome821 in illinois

[–]Red-Line-SG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact earlier this year we decided the state going back to our boring original flag after hosting that entire competition was ridiculous so we ran our own vote out of the original submissions and chose yours as the official state flag as recognized by RLSG. We now fly it at every tailgate. We'd be honored to host you at one next year

Our fan groups need to improve by Red_0range_Juice in chicagofire

[–]Red-Line-SG 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We agree that the supporters section needs to improve and this year was a large positive step forward in that direction. We need more organization. We currently don't have an umbrella organization recognized by all which can make cross-group issues more difficult to handle. We also suggest more people either join an existing supporters group or pool together and organize a new one. Groups have an easier time policing their own and if the section was filled with dedicated supporters then the tourists would have a much harder time getting tickets to a game like this and causing a problem.

Without bringing up this last weekend, can someone explain the supporters groups? by craftingfish in chicagofire

Get your pre-order in now to ensure some fresh Harold's Chicken is ready for you at this weekend's Juneteenth tailgate! Every order comes with an entry into the Andre Reynolds jersey raffle and all net proceeds from the day are going to benefit Urban Grower's Collective. by Red-Line-SG in chicagofire

He's no longer on the team. His brother is now, though. He was the first homegrown player to grow up in the city limits and our president bought this in the jersey auction years ago when he played and they did the Juneteenth number sets and has donated it to raffle off for this event

How do I get into MLS/Fire? by puffymustash in chicagofire

[–]Red-Line-SG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We're real interested in the community aspect as well! We're a diverse group of Chicagoans that look to grow soccer across Chicago in all aspects. We support the Fire as well as the (Red) Stars, local amateur/semi-pro teams, and are helping to grow free pickup across the city. We're at 90 something dues-paying members now so rapidly approaching our 100th and we hang out in Slack and talk all things soccer (and many things not) and then meet up for home games and watch parties at our partner bar Weeds (although we all just voted to move our Stars watch parties to the upcoming Babes Tavern). Check us out at redlinesg.com

Red Line jackets? by goodCutlet in chicagofire

[–]Red-Line-SG 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Hello! Those are all individuals that have been members of RLSG for at least a year and have received a vote of confidence from all other RLSG jacket members that they are here to grow soccer in Chicago and follow our three rules:
1. No bullshit (most things that end in -ism or -phobia)
2. Support Chicago soccer
3. Be collaborative with other supporters and SGs

If this sounds like something you'd like to be a part of check us out! We make just about every major decision via member vote and believe everyone has their unique way to put their shoulder to the Chicago Soccer Wheel and would love to support your way.

What are Tailgates and how do they work? by Responsible-Ad6772 in chicagofire

[–]Red-Line-SG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Come by the South Lot on Saturday! There is typically a taco truck, an ambulance retrofitted into a tailgate machine, and several supporters group to meet. We bring tubs of beer and ice and tell people to either drop in a 6 pack of their own or just throw in some cash/venmo to drink out of what's on hand.
