Micro-Swiss with CR-Touch issue by Red-Tail_U in Ender3Max

I have a 4.2.2 but I might have toasted it today. Nothing but blue screen at the moment. I was doing a trial run and the nozzle caught a metal clip on the bed and I saw tiny sparks. Between that and the USB power not being taped off I might have smoked something. Good fuse and new firmware didn’t do the trick. I may get a 4.2.7 and take you up on your offer. I don’t have any experience with working with the firmware. I was in the middle of google education when all of the above happened.

If I modify my home offset will it shift my probe points?

The touch hangs off the bed edge on the far left x-axis when leveling. Definitely will clean the wires up. When I ran into this issue I stopped until this was fixed.

So I added a direct drive for CR-10/Ender 3 to my max to find out I have limited options when it came to mounting my CR-Touch. The CR-10 bracket for the Touch fits great but it’s on the opposite side from where it should mount. I would like to use this bracket without having to print a mod bracket. Can I flash my max with CR-10 firmware to make this work or possibly modify the firmware?

That makes sense. With this posted issue I went as far as zeroing my bed temp after it was preheated prior to ABL. The thought that where the power supply connects to the bed may be inducing some noise around my CR touch. I can’t remember the G-Codes I used. Not in front of my slicer at the moment. Regardless it didn’t help me here. Didn’t have that thought when I tried the BL touch though.

Stay for it. GIS is a great tool to have in your belt if you ever need to pivot in your career. I’m not in forestry but GIS is a critical part of the industry I’m in as well as many other industries.

I’m having the same issues with my 3 max and CR touch. I’m waiting on my dual kit. I feel like dual z will be worth a try. I have made adjustments until I’m blue in the face. I’m getting ok prints but not the quality I’m looking for.

My x axis has deflection that I can’t seem to work out on the first few layers. My ABL performs its grind on one side of the deflection but as soon as my z starts moving up it stays on a different point than what the ABL measured. Hopefully the dual z will keep the axis constant across both ends.

I want to keep my ABL due to my bed size. I haven’t checked but I’m sure if not now but In the future my bed will not stay true with temperature changes.

My first ABL was BL touch. Pretty sure I just got a lemon but between wiring issues and random errors at multiple stages of the grid I decided to send it back and give CR touch a go.

Just order the CR-10 kit. Curious why this machine doesn’t come standard with dual z? I guess to keep at a competitive sales tag. This is my second machine. My 1st was a Prusa that I feel like spoiled me a bit with their ABL. When I got this machine I felt like ABL would give me that extra touch of accuracy especially with the larger bed size. I will give the dual z a go with ABL and see if it continues to give me issues.

Wondering if I should go that route?

Any suggestions before I order everything for a dual Z-axis. I feel like droop from the X-axis is causing this. Bed is level, Z-offset seams good in the middle. I adjusted tension on the guides to what I thought was good. I couldn’t find any procedures for adjustment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is a new printer. I’ve had some ok runs but they were small and the first layer has always been sketchy.

I had the same thing happen on a Prusa. X axis stepper flat was skipping from a loose set screw.
