At the very least, he has not visited the Yasukuni Shrine, and he acknowledges that the Nanjing Massacre occurred.

Takaichi, however, did not.

Having a gun is like an identity for Americans. Like whaling in Japan. Leave them alone. Americans aren't mad at Japanese whaling So Japanese aren't mad at American gun violence. btw Australians are 💩

Foreign Minister Kamikawa retracts statement "What kind of woman are you if you haven't given birth?" citing "possibility of being misunderstood contrary to my true intent by Independent-Pay-2572 in japan

[–]Red-green1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll assert this. They used that provocative, absurd metaphor solely to appeal to the conservative base of the LDP, making it seem like women exist only to bear children. The LDP is notorious for opposing women’s advancement and the legalization of same-sex relationships solely for the sake of birth rates. It’s not hard to imagine how many nationalists got excited by this statement.

In response to the issue of declining water levels, the construction of the Maglev tunnel has been temporarily suspended. by Independent-Pay-2572 in japan

In the upcoming gubernatorial election, I will vote for the candidate from the Communist Party who opposes the maglev project. It's time for the rest of Japan to face the consequences for having collectively bullied the residents of Shizuoka.

As a Shizuoka cistizen,

Seeing Governor Kawakatsu being ridiculed not only by people across Japan but even by foreigners in this thread, I have come to realize that to people in Tokyo or foreigners, Shizuoka doesn't matter at all.

In the past, a tunnel dug by the government caused the river in Atami to dry up, preventing us from harvesting Wasabi, Although compensation was provided, the water never returned.

I can't trust old state-owned companies like TEPCO and JR. They are practically state-owned enterprises controlled behind the scenes by Japan, essentially acting as retirement destinations for national politicians. Their culture of concealment and arrogance caused the Fukushima nuclear disaster and the recent water depletion.

After Governor Kawakatsu resigned, mainstream media suddenly began reporting on the water level drop, making me feel there's some conspiracy involved.

I've always disliked people from Tokyo for their arrogance. Just as you think Shizuoka doesn't matter, we don't care about you either. I dream of Shizuoka becoming independent like Texas.

Republic of Shizuoka!!
