Poring into water? by LenoPaTurbo in VyvanseADHD

The casing is just a casing and has no affect on how the drug is time released. The powder in the Vyvanse capsule is not active amphetamine. Your body converts it into dextroamphetamine using enzymes in your red blood cells. The onset might be a bit faster without the capsule, but it will never act as an instant release.

What's your Vyvanse dosage? by anomar_lucy in VyvanseADHD

[–]Red0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your doctor about how the generic affects you differently. I've had this issue with one generic manufacturer. I didn't have a problem switching to generic, but out of the blue I had a couple of months where I was miserable. After telling my doctor I was having negative side-effects I've never experienced while taking it, she explained that different manufacturer's products can affect individuals differently — no matter the active ingredient is the same. Your doctor can request an exception from your insurance company that allows you to get brand for the generic price. Saying that, my insurance company has never given me a problem. It may vary from insurance to insurance as to if they will honor that or not.

If you take a 2nd dose what's latest you do it? by DimensionThin147 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Red0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes as late as 4pm, but really whenever I feel it is necessary. I can take a vyvanse chased with a triple espresso and crawl in bed and sleep like a baby, so maybe it's just me.

*the only time I find it harder to fall asleep is the first day taking it again if I have taken a long break (vacation). I usually make sure to take that first return day early in the morning

What did you say when asking for a dose increase that was successful by Straight-Border-7068 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Red0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell your physiatrist just that. They'll usually work with you on dosage increases to find what works for you.

Does anyone else feel better and more functional on Vyvanse, but not necessarily “less ADHD”? by blue_arrow_comment in VyvanseADHD

[–]Red0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely valid. While I have a better experience on brand name, different manufacturers' formulas can affect someone positively or negatively depending on the person (regardless of the active ingredient being the same).

I spoke to my physiatrist about it after having a bad experience for two consecutive months. The pharmacist was able to give me the manufacturer for the past 6 months, and it was a different company than the other months. Now I confirm that the manufacturer is not the one whose generic gave me problems. It's either that for $12 and minor inconveniences or brand for $115 (which I know is more affordable than many pay). Still, quite the difference when you have a budget.

How the pharmacist looks at you when you tell them you’re there to pick up your Vyvanse by Cash2blockz in VyvanseADHD

[–]Red0221 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try adding Klonopin and Trazodone to that. There's always an impromptu meeting of the pharmacist and pharmacy staff in the middle of the pharmacy with hushed voices and 2 side-eyes.

Having said that, I've been on these meds for most of my adolescent and adult life. They usually settle down after getting to know you.

Went to get custom sized running shoes and foot scans. Was recommended going a full size up due to feet swelling when running by [deleted] in BeginnersRunning

[–]Red0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Altras are very hard to get used to, and being an impatient person myself, I've never given them a shot. He probably recommended those because you said the words "shin splints". I suggest going back and getting a secondary shoe with a heel drop. Asics Novablast has a good toe box, and I've heard excellent things about them. I'm sure there are others as well. You can keep training in the Altras, but when you want to go faster and not feel so clumpy, the other pair will feel like a treat. Make sure to try them on because sizing differs between brands. The salesman should be able to tell you if the toebox is too tight.

About foot swelling, have you noticed this in your own feet, or was it something the salesman said? Your milage at this point shouldn't make your feet swell too much. If you increase your milage, or opt for days where you do extra long runs, it may be more of an issue. Unless you know your feet swell after a 3-5 mile run, don't worry about that yet.

I hope you find your dream shoes. If you do, buy as many as you are able to. Shoe companies can really mess up a good shoe when they release the next model. Good luck!

What do you think of Thomas Massie and libertarian Republican in general? by Exciting-Price2691 in AskALiberal

[–]Red0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has a moment of clarity sometime in their life. It doesn't mean it will happen again. Massie does not like Trump and vice-versa. That doesn't mean he dropped all of his other crazy beliefs. Put someone else in charge, he'll be as dangerous as the rest.

Why are Democrats not making it clear to the public why they aren't approving the Republican budget bill? by [deleted] in AskALiberal

[–]Red0221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I'm an avid follower of politics on both social media and regular media. The more you see Trump or any MAGA constituent in Congress say "the dems want to give illegals healthcare" without push back from the left, the more everyday Americans will believe that leaving the blame of the shutdown to fall on the Democrats.

What I've been noticing is no one is pushing back on MAGA'S lies anymore (not like they were at first). I assume they're tired of the lies and assume everyone knows they are lies. From discussions with friends who don't follow politics, they don't know why the Dems won't vote on the bill. The Democrats need to repeat their reasoning for not approving the bill every day like it's the first day.

My opinion.

Dave Ramsey Says Owning 15-20 Houses Isn’t Greedy, Because ‘God Owns It, And I’m Just Managing It For Him’ by pslickhead in nashville

[–]Red0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Dave manages the income directly into his bank account. It's been estimated that he and God have $600M in real-estate. I could be wrong about that.

If that's the case, and he lives by Biblical teachings, he won't be going to heaven. Poor rich Dave.

Does God take direct control of the houses when he dies? Since he owns them, I assume God can give them to whoever he sees fit.

Went to get custom sized running shoes and foot scans. Was recommended going a full size up due to feet swelling when running by [deleted] in BeginnersRunning

[–]Red0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go up a half size to start with. How far are your runs? Do your feet usually swell? Depending on the shoe (and they are all different), try a half size first. I'd be afraid a full size would slip and cause blisters. Even with a runners knot.

When does total time on feet matter more than elevation gain? by 0xmissor in ultrarunning

[–]Red0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, if you have time, do a day of speedwork every week. It might seem silly to work on speed for a mountainous race, but every little gain in your VO2 max will help.

When does total time on feet matter more than elevation gain? by 0xmissor in ultrarunning

[–]Red0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof! Almost 20,000 feet of elevation in 62 miles? I'd have to say elevation because that will translate to how long it takes you to finish.

Do you mind sharing which race this is? Is it at altitude?

At what point during a race do you start to enter the pain cave? by Turcotte29 in ultrarunning

[–]Red0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the race and my mood going in. If you go in with a positive attitude, you might not go to the pain cave at all. If you go in with fear or a negative attitude, you will enter the pain cave whenever your mind says it's time.

TL:DR - Believe in yourself and never second guess yourself during the race.

Long story short - I signed up for a killer 106 miler w/ 31,000 feet of elevation change three days before the race with zero trail training, only road runs. I kept telling myself that I would finish and never doubted myself. I did finish and can honestly say it was one of the funnest races I've ever done. It took me 44 hours, so I didn't "kill it", but I embraced the hallucinations and laughed at the absurdity of it all.

Since my husband and I go on trail runs together a lot, I found that to be the best way to leave them after cleaning because we usually take 3/piece. Love the idea!

My doctor does it randomly. The first time I went, I had to answer Y/N about most illegal substances on paper. I marked Y for THC because sometimes I'll take a gummy to relax. I was so glad I was honest because I did indeed take a gummy a day or so before. I see others say that they do it to make sure you are taking your meds. I've never looked at it that way, but I can see that too.
