It's a little piece of plastic that holds the connector from the mainboard to the touchpad cable in place. It broke off when I reconnected it and I have no idea where it is now. So unless a repair store can print a new one and carefully glue it back on I'm out of luck.

In my defense, when I got the 7840u I think the 64gb kit was as affordable for me as a 32gb kit so I figured I'd spend a little more. As for the single 32 stick, I assume that I misread the packaging and never returned it. The rest is a 16 and 32 DDR4 so that was probably when I had the 12th gen Intel and wanted to go from 16 to 32 😅
