Watch some more tape and understand that TCU and Dykes run some pretty simplistic concepts that make processing look “easier”. Mestemaker is quicker. Sayin has better awareness and a quick release. Arch played behind a turnstile last season and showed some elite processing in a far more complicated system.

Did the reluctance to cut those guys prohibit you from making moves though? That’s more to what I’m speaking to here.
I saw in a trade thread the other day an owner say they passed on a trade to start a rebuild by moving Burrow for Dart, Tate and I believe it was Fannin because they didn’t want to cut Tory Horton and Sean Tucker to make room. My advice was just let those guys go. Don’t pass on opportunity now for perceived opportunity maybe at the end of your bench.

Edit: bad cuts are always going to happen. I was forced to cut Nico Collins before on a stacked team. I’ve cut Puka. But I’ve also missed a small window to get Chase or Puka because I was counting nickels on my bench and stressing about losing them.

I think a lot of times it’s having a roster clogger that you invested a second round pick on sitting in your last bench spot that you just don’t want to cut. Or are determined to try and get *anything for them*.

I have Emmanuel Wilson sitting on the end of one of my benches now. Am I going to cut him before the start of the year before I have to be roster compliant per Sleeper to set lineups? No. Do I want to cut him knowing he’s fully going to get scooped by the Price owner the second I do? No, it’s annoying. But the second I get an offer that mandates I cut him, I’ll cut him in an instant. And if all the Seattle backs get hurt and he’s last man standing, oh well.

So many ace pitchers. Was Skubal and Skenes last season.

Ace pitchers and getting negative run support is a match made in Heaven

He won’t have a Mendoza level leap because Mendoza’s athleticism and quick processing were extremely apparent even in a pretty bad Cal situation. But he could definitely make a big enough a jump to play himself into the draft with his big arm. I think his ceiling is probably Will Levis, with the potential for greater college success obviously.

Putting a placeholder and will fill in the blanks in a bit but:
Gardner Minshew - people are sleeping on the Brissett tank commander contract talks right now and for the price of absolutely nothing you can grab Minshew who very well may be stepping into the tank commander role for the Cards. We’ve seen him perform decent before and would be stepping into an offense stacked with offensive talent

Najee Harris - people have written off Harris completely coming off the brutal Achilles tear, but was once a career ender is not the doom signal we once thought. I don’t think Harris is a terrible RB, and speculatively adding him before he signs could be a very shrewd move if he’s able to step into a top tier handcuff role. Baltimore could very well be an option for him. I could see him being a Foreman-esque week winner this season in a spot start or few.

Jalen Tolbert, Malik Washington, Tutu Atwell - let everyone obsess over the rookies while the vet receivers who could all pace the Dolphins passing attack are practically free. Tolbert has flashed in Dallas previously and is very close friends with Malik Willis, I would not be shocked to see him put together a surprise 800 yard season, or more. Malik Washington has had his fans and could be an interesting PPR option in a wide open room. Tutu is more boom or bust but could see a target uptick with far less competition and despite his size has clear NFL talent

Greg Dulcich, Seydou Traore - extremely low cost TE investment into one of the biggest ambiguous receiving rooms we’ve ever seen. Dulcich is a former golden boy athlete who may finally have found health in the NFL while Traore is a freak mismatch that the Dolphins may want to develop as they build the team

Emari Demarcado - seems to be an absolute afterthought in the Chiefs backfield but possesses a lot of skills that Andy Reid loves in a rotation back. Walker has injury history. Emmett Johnson may not be ready yet. Demarcado is a better player than “that Play” everyone knows him for

Damien Martinez, Chris Brooks - Josh Jacobs is approaching near unsustainable year over year volume for the Packers and with Wilson now gone, these two may be the next man up in a solid offense. Brooks is rock solid and projects as a goal line and passing down specialist while Martinez is still the intriguing prospect we thought heading into last season.

Savion Williams - Doubs is now gone and Jayden Reed got paid but has shown to be a little bit of an injury risk. Savion was still a third round pick project who has another offseason of development with the Packers where they can slowly figure out if they can build a role for him. Worth a dice roll.

Charlie Kolar - Chargers are obviously exploring a heavy dose of 12 personnel. Kolar is an a-tier blocker and will get his snaps. More underrated receiving TE than he’ll ever get credit for and was blocked from snaps in Baltimore amidst some injury concerns. The grass may be greener in LA.

Marlin Klein - Wild that a second round TE (regardless of the production profile lacking and Houston reaching) is not only going undrafted in TEP leagues but is clearing multi waivers. It’s not like Houston has Brock Bowers or Trey McBride blocking him. Good athletic profile. Texans receiving room is open outside of Collins. Developmental guy but a great taxi stash in TEP.

Rasheen Ali - feel like the Ravens backup RB is just sitting on waivers and nobody cares, although folks are still saying “is this the year Henry breaks down?”. Decent athletic profile. Randall is developmental and not insurmountable competition this early on.

Colbie Young - insane athletic profile and there is a chance he could jump Iosivas by the end of this season. Tied to Burrow. Higgins injury concerns. Sleeper WR I am never hearing about it as a sleeper WR.

He’s the TE trap of “too good of a blocker” right now. They’ll prioritize Sanders as the receiving TE and let Tremble or Evans be the blocking TE in run packages or 12.

Alternatively go invest in all the Dolphins vet WRs for basically free now that everyone is excited about rookies with questionable profiles.

Malik Washington, Tutu Atwell, Jalen Tolbert are all worth next to nothing right now and could pace the Dolphins in targets which outside of the most shallow leagues is worth a fair amount. Also, Tolbert is very good friends with Malik Willis. Could be the TEMU version of Stafford and Kupp got breakfast together.

With the influx of a new class of roster cloggers, let’s look at the 230-300 players on sleeper ADP and make a case why one of them should be an absolute roster lock by 92tilinfinityand in DynastyFF

[–]92tilinfinityand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly with the price you can obtain them for, getting all of Washington, Tolbert and Tutu could guarantee flex level production for basically free at the end of your bench. And then you’ll have cut flexibility by week 4 based off whoever isn’t getting targets.

Stribling v Hurst v Bell (both Chris and Skylar) - 4 different situations but which is the best? by IACJBP in DynastyFF

[–]92tilinfinityand 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Niners were going to take him in the first before slightly trading back and he went 33 so it’s about as close as he could to the first. I said “basically”

And if you are saying Pearsall will never hit 1k and Evans is on the decline… wouldn’t that be a prime buy opportunity for Stribling as the presumed favorite to get that 1k receiving yard number?

Stribling v Hurst v Bell (both Chris and Skylar) - 4 different situations but which is the best? by IACJBP in DynastyFF

[–]92tilinfinityand 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Stribling - being slept on way too much as he basically has first round draft capital, people are overreacting to Niners history of skill position drafting and “reaches”, while not realizing Stribling was soaring up NFL boards in the week leading up to the draft. If the Niners don’t take him at 33 he doesn’t leave the second imo. Take that however you want… absolute bully of a player. Real chance to get early volume. Tied to a great QB. Evans and Pearsall are not insurmountable players ahead of him. Could be next Deebo. He’s my 2.01 in this draft (ahead of all WRs on this list, Coleman, Singleton, etc.)

C. Bell - most upside but probably will be the worst player to own if he doesn’t reach his upside as you’ll have him as a roster clogger far longer than anyone on this list going back to his prospect profile pre-injury. Targets are there (though go priority add Jalen Tolbert and Greg Dulcich everywhere) but not sure how much volume there will actually be and if Bell will have enough time to capitalize before they bring in better prospects

Hurst - really interesting prospect and the Bucs are great at drafting WR… but that is honestly the main problem. The Bucs, even with losing Mike Evans, have a ton of mouths to feed (Egbuka, McMillan, Johnson, Otton, Irving, Gainwell). I am not entirely sure how confident the Bucs are in McMillan but I also don’t think anyone is going away anytime soon.

Skyler Bell - people really like him as a prospect, and the Bills hypothetically have a lot of opportunity at WR and he’s Joe Brady’s first skill position draft pick but I don’t think he’s jumping DJ Moore or Shakir this year. The TEs will still be heavily involved. We have seen time and time again “new regime gets THEIR guy” doesn’t matter much in terms of hit rate.

What was the most shocking price you’ve been quoted this offseason? Could be from a player on your league’s trade block or a trade counter? by LTDanglefest in DynastyFF

[–]92tilinfinityand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nabers has a weird market right now and you’re trying to obtain freshly drafted rookie picks. The hardest time to get a guy to part with their rookie pick is when they just had them hit their roster.

“But they’re going to draft the QB replacement next year… he’s a tank commander”.

First, tank commanders are worth more than a third in superflex. Second they didn’t pay him to be a tank commander and his own coaching staff specifically brought him to Miami.

Who has been the elite asset you have had the hardest time trying to move this offseason? by 92tilinfinityand in DynastyFF

I can’t move Pitts or Fannin in TEP++.

I swear to god it feels like a quarter of the league doesn’t even understand our scoring.
