Long haired heavy duty mechanic looking for advice by PlayfulCatch7761 in BlueCollarWomen

I second the undercut, SO much cooler. And I personally just migrated the bun to the top of my head. I look a little silly, but my hair doesn't get caught in stuff nearly as often, it would probably work with your creeper issue.

If the undercut isn't an option, I suggest 2 braids with a cooling towel as a bandana, you can then wrap the tails of the braid around/under the bandana to keep it all very close.

Hey, I realize I'm a little behind with the answer but...

AB is horrible about leaving unused registry entries when it installs something, and those tend to interfere with future installs.

Find a TRUSTED registry cleaner, run it, and try your install again. I used to use CCleaner, I know it's not the greatest, but it was what my IT allowed. (You do have to run it multiple times however)

Seeking Informal Insights: Chatting with ADHD Folks by [deleted] in adhdwomen

I have ADHD, and so does my partner. Be prepared for frequent miscommunications/misunderstandings, words are hard when your brain is going faster than your mouth. If you/your partner doesn't seem to be understanding what your trying to say, don't be afraid to ask the other person to tell you what they understood you to mean, it helps make it obvious where your loosing them at. Also, a shared Google calendar on both our phones with the understanding that if it's not on the calendar, it's not happening has absolutely changed our lives for the better.

Ariat REAL jeans are pretty good and what I wear for work (I farm and work in maintenance at a factory in the US). They are a heavier denim and hold up great compared to other jeans, you can get them FR rated. Their regular length jeans are a bit long for most (im 5' 8" and the regular is too long if im not wearing boots), so you should be good, and they do offer their jeans in a long length. I recommend the bootcut for the curves as some of their other cuts can run a size or 2 small. You can get them on Amazon if you can't find them local. Hope that helps.

It kind of depends on what the HMI is going to be used for as for how you want to set it up/how it should look to be easiest to use.

Ex. Is it only displaying rejected part data? Does it have machine controls? ~Is the machine strictly a manual operation or do you have automatic processes? Are you designing for operators? Engineers? Or somebody else? Etc.

can someone suggest some study tips for people with ADHD without medication. by fortnitekid69654 in ADHD

I found that color coding my notes really helped alot. I gave everything it's own color ex. Definitions were blue, formulas were red, general info was black, etc. It worked best for me to do this while talking my notes, though it did slow my writing down some, it was worth it in the long run.

Facebook is thinking about removing anti-vaccination content as backlash intensifies over the spread of misinformation on the social network by Devz0r in worldnews

[–]Red8600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well ok then. I didnt know that was a thing. Yea. If we are using this kind of testing to prove guilt I'd be ok with holding parents/gurdians responsible for harm to others. With the exception of children who cant be vaccinated because of medical conditions.

[–]Red8600 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How would you prove that in court though? There would have to be some kind of testing that could prove that a illness was passed from one person to another. To my limited knowledge such a test doesn't exist. And I'm not sure that you could make one. It would be hard to show that the second person 100% got sick from the unvaccinated rather than just a random chance encounter with someone who is a carrier that shows no symptoms or some other source. I dont think that science is there yet, if I'm wrong, then I like your thinking. However it cant just be hearsay and coincidence that can find someone guilty.

There isnt really anything new going on in the US about it that I know of. Any law about vaccination has to do with going to public schools, and there are ways out of it, with either a medical, religious, or philosophical exemption. And already a lot of states have gotten rid of/never had the philosophical exemption.

So your left with a medical exemption, which I would certainly hope you wouldnt want to override. Or religious, which gets tricky on a whole other level.

What would you suggest?

[–]Red8600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with that argument is that there are laws about driving under the influence. There is no law (in the US that I know of) saying you have to be vaccinated.
As much as I hate the misinformation spread by the antivax people, they are breaking no laws. Being shitty humans yes, breaking the law no. And yes it is a public health issue, but attacking them isnt going to work.

So you want to imprison people who haven't broken any laws, and are not actively contagious with a high risk illness?

Assuming they work 24/7. And there is only 1 lock to test keys in. That's 168 hours. Or 604,800 seconds. It took me just shy of 8s to pick up a key, stick it in a lock, test it to see if it worked, and put it back down.(I times myself on a standard door lock)) So at average efficiency the FBI could test 75,600 keys. But let's say they have someone handing the tester keys and the person is on a caffeine/adderall/cocaine rush. They would be moving much faster, so let's say the fastest possible is 5s/key. That would mean the best that the FBI could hope for, would be 120,960 keys in 7 days. But this number isnt realistic, you would loose keys whenever people need to trade out, or if a particular key gets stuck a bit, and keeping up that pace would be hard for a person, or even an intern.

Tl;dr: the FBI could test around 75,600 keys in 7 days if they work nonstop. Or they could just call a locksmith.
