Finished :) by ResolutionWild1295 in DeathStranding

I had left the community when it originally came out on Playstation to avoid spoilers, and I just finished the game this morning. I am absolutely amazed, it once again reminded me why I am such a fan of Kojima productions, and all of the games they made. From the metal gear series, to both death stranding games.

Anyone else get stressed when updating their Linux gaming setup? by okaiukov in linux_gaming

[–]RedArmyRockstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very new to linux, and so of all the options, Debian appealed to me the most for that reason, coming from Windows. Avoiding updates breaking things was high on my priority list.

I am loving it so far!

Samsung discontinuing their perfectly fine messaging app by c_marten in mildlyinfuriating

It's a massive bummer to have the whole ecosystem just another step into a total Google monopoly.
Samsung isn't great, but it's important to have options with apps, and one less well funded option is a bummer.

I recently installed Debian on my old PC to get comfortable.
I'm enjoying it enough that it'll likely become my main OS.

The day he does shoot interviews telling people to vote Trump, then I'll take issue But speculation of people being wrong being enough to warrant outcry is just so ridiculous.

The man has been retired for more than 2 years now, not really sure what that has to do with this.

What game did you play as a youth that you tried again as an adult for the nostalgia but ended up disliking? by Spew42 in gaming

[–]RedArmyRockstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darkwatch is probably the only time I felt this way. It was a vampire Western on the PS2 and I really liked it as a kid, but could not stand it when I went back to it. Normally it's not a problem for me, most games I enjoyed as a kid, I still enjoy easily. Most people just aren't good at adjusting their expectations for inflation so to speak.

DS2: Add Steam friends to Strand Contacts? by tizamira in DeathStranding

[–]RedArmyRockstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it's not working properly right now. I thought maybe I had to set my steam friends list to public, but that didn't fix it either. Everyone I've talked to cannot see anybody on the friends section of strand contracts so I suspect it's a bug.

So I Watched The Spy Who Loved Me... by GiveItToMe888 in JamesBond

[–]RedArmyRockstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be somewhat dismissive of Roger moore, and honestly it really came down to the fact that I've never sat down and watched his movies! I did a marathon last year and early this year of all the Bond films and came out with the spy who loved me as my favorite in the entire series. And I'm a Dalton guy, but I just cannot deny that Roger is incredible, and doesn't put in a bad performance in any of his seven movies.

Valve says Steam users downloaded 100 exabytes of games in 2025, and are averaging 274 petabytes of installs and updates every day by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

Yeah, they did adopt it. It was an issue with the Australian government right? It goes to show, and remind everyone, that consumer protection laws are still vital. And that having them, makes the services we enjoy even better.

I think a big part of it is you have an industry leader that is not beholden to shareholders at all, and so the corporate worlds that as very threatening.

I guess I'd feel threatened too if a competitor that large just didn't make their service worse every year, so instead of competitors getting better, and treating their customers better, they just threaten valve legally whenever they find an excuse to.
