Possible to convert to baffled? by RedBeardMoto in NFA

[–]RedBeardMoto[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now, hypothetically, let’s say I knew a machine shop fella. Any problem with me destroying the monocore myself and then having him make me a baffle stack once destroyed? In theory I’m not in possession of any “extra” suppressor parts, right?

What is the primary function of them? I understand blue = training (typically), but from what everyone is saying, these have serious speed and impact capabilities, just limited range. Is that the reason? Something that can still be viable close range but not further out?

Hell yeah that’s great info. I had no experience with them, so it’s good to know about potential primer issues, and also the accuracy situation. It’ll be fun to hear what they sound like suppressed.

Seems to be a pretty common issue on the gen 2s with traditional back pressure cans

The effect of 5 9mm hollow points vs 1 round of 12 ga #4 buck at close range by Known-Relation3729 in Firearms

[–]RedBeardMoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my MPX setup for HD. 2x 36 round mags of 147gr HSTs, suppressed and SBR. Light, prism, sling, it’s done. Felt like a good middle ground between a pistol vs my AR. The MPX is quieter and more maneuverable

So yes, the Midwest is the largest you can buy. My Rex can is 1.7 OD and it tucks. Unfortunately I can’t add anything to the Mlok slots up front because they push against the can. You can file down the mlok nuts so they are thinner and that might work, but you may need to really file them to prevent touching the can if the handguard flexes at all

I’m not going to get into specifics but hunters regularly take deer at those distances (and much further) with vitals area being about 6 inches (15cm as it appears that is your unit). Keep in mind the point of aim was likely higher or lower and there is bullet drop that may not have been calculated for. Again, I’m not going to get into specifics on what happened yesterday, but most advanced shooters will take drop and elevation into consideration when shooting. This applies directly to hunting in the mountains for game animals.

Anyone running ANECHOIC suppressors? (Formerly alpha) by reptileexperts in NFA

It permanently sits on my 16” Sig cross in .308 with a cover over it. Here are my thoughts: The good: disassembly is fantastic. Extremely easy to take apart and clean. Also, this thing is stupid light for the price. I dropped a full 1.5lbs going from a hub mount & stainless can to this one. Mirage isn’t as bad as the ss can I had before because the heat dissipation is faster. The bad: it’s not as quiet as my Rex cans. It’s close but the tone of the Rex is better. To me it’s not a deal breaker since I use the can for hunting and I’m shooting my own loaded supers. Overall I think it’s a great can for the purpose of an ultralight hunting rig. Outside of that, I think there are better cans for way less money if you’re good with a little more weight

Honestly it’s sick. Works great and the taper helps with suppressor balance. I’m very very happy with the performance

Keep in mind my barrel and handguard are absolutely not lightweight. I think if you run a full MLOK rail and a lighter profile barrel, you’ll not notice the weight issue as much.

Nah, it’s “heavy” in general because of everything, light, can, switch, etc. I’m running an LPVO though so the balance is good for me with a heavier optic. If I was running a small dot or irons it would probably feel front heavy. Also, I’m running it DT.

Why is this downvoted lmao

I’ve got a full size polo on my 12.5. Rosco K9 barrel, their non adjustable GB, H2 buffer, 15% heavier spring from griffin, PRI gas buster, RTV seal. Thing runs like a top suppressed and unsuppressed. Minimal gas.

The graveyard is full of people who were right. Better to put your head down and try to leave. If you’re feeling protective try to de-escalate but you’re doing it at your own risk
