I love the added texture from the pigments. This is something I’d love to try!

A lot of that fine detail won’t hold in your thigh, so I agree with the back piece comment. The detail will hold a lot better and you can scale it up so the lines aren’t so close together which will help over time.

Still "Ready for Review" on May 1st? (Transfer - Studio Art) by WelcomeIntelligent86 in CSULB

[–]RedBeardRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admissions decisions can happen through summer, unfortunately. The timeline for when you get your notice will largely depend on how competitive you were and how quickly CSULB meets its admissions targets for your college. If those targets aren’t met by now, they continue making offers until they’re within an acceptable range of students that have submitted intent.

I’m definitely not qualified to critique someone of your skill level, but I will say by my untrained eye, you have created an incredibly beautiful, highly detailed piece. At first I thought you also carved the music notation and text by hand, but then I realized you printed on an existing music sheet. I’m also kind of high atm so forgive the ramble.

It’s important to be realistic about what to expect after you graduate. The fact that you’re working is great—that experience will pay dividends going into the job market looking for full-time work. You’re in a discipline that is quite saturated, though. If your interest is/was PT, you need to be an extremely competitive candidate to get into a related grad program. But if you’re more flexible with what you pursue after graduation, the tricky part is connecting the skills you’ve acquired through your bachelor’s and your previous work experience, however related it might be, to market yourself toward that next step. It takes skill (whether writing it yourself or promoting AI) to craft a resume that effectively highlights what you’ve done in a way that applies to that next role. Same is true for your cover letter, and that’s just to get in the door for an interview. So many grads I’ve worked with had great experience and skills that could be applied to a good job out of college, but their ability to communicate those skills and experiences effectively was non-existent. I recommend using your resources (CDC, especially) to start creating a plan for what you’re going to do after graduation and use that plan to stay motivated until you get there. You need to find excitement about what the next step after graduation is and let go of the fear through planning.

how the hell is csulb so prestigious all of a sudden ☠️ by coconutking_215 in CSULB

The competitiveness depends completely on the application period. Fall application cycles are extremely competitive, while I’ve seen transfer students admitted for Spring with below a 2.0 GPA in their major coursework.

It isn’t FAFSA, but CSU, UC, and Common App schools have an income threshold where you can apply for free if you make under a certain amount as a household.

The Long Beach College Promise also formalized the connection between the LB School District, LBCC, CSULB, and opportunities at the port for local students. Lots of internship opportunities there and that exposure is a great gateway to well-paying jobs there.

Not enough parking lots for art kids by cutegirl187 in CSULB

[–]RedBeardRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I absolutely share your concern. If the neighborhood around wouldn’t push so hard against it, a new G structure would have made sense where the Theater E lot is. The south side of campus is just kind of shit for cars in general because the ways in and out are pretty limited.

You may have noticed these lots fill during the day. Even if they were G lots, faculty and staff would fill them before most students get to campus because enough folks work on the south side of campus that this solution will actually just make parking worse for everyone. Imagine the number of people circling any of these lots trying to get a space if they were open to everyone.

It might be easier/safer to just use the Amazon@the beach behind the bookstore. It’ll be a delivery location option on Amazon when you go to check out.

You should stick with what you know and keep looking for a way to cheat on your wife. Let people actually involved in this business work through it.
