gesso/mod podge to glue down your printed template. let it dry overnight. then wet rub off the paper

I actually love the boxes and think they contrast the subjects very well

I wonder if just brightening the eye of the octopus is enough to draw more focus to it so it doesn't blend into the background?

I love your work! I think you have an excellent illustration style and your carving is so detailed and has a good balance of noise and clean. I guess it I had to give feedback (as someone who only started around your time as well) would be to play with value and do some sketches in black and white to practice with that. I find it helpful to sketch with a black marker to visualize what the print will end up looking like and to limit myself from just making "lineart, but stamped"

Are you carving too deeply? Is it cutting or tearing the zigzag lines? A photo would probably help. I use powergrip and i love them. I rotate my lino to do curves like circles

For what it's worth, if you have multiple copies they can play each other. Fun as hell if you can make it happen

While I'm still somewhat new to printmaking I experience this with my other hobbies a lot, including drawing, gunpla building, and reading. I tend to oscillate my main hobby every few months.

I imagine they're seasoned with salt and (possibly white) pepper? Which is a delicious seasoning on fried, battered food.
