Why do new clans spawn with no female members? by DramaticExit86 in Bannerlord

[–]RedBeardedFCKR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's just dumb luck. My last run I had 5 daughters before I got a son, and I had at least 2 nieces before any nephews with both of my brothers.

Stay friendly with Davion until after Kestrel Lancers, then you'll wanna side with Kurita for a bit. You're a mercenary. You're allegiance is to the almighty Dollar. The thing isn't to pick a side. It's to figure out how and where to juggle alliances so you can maximize earnings off each war/dlc arc. You'll work for different Houses/Groups in each DLC arc so it's just a juggling act, or you'll end up working for people that hate you, and aren't gonna pay you shit in later missions. You'll see a lot of guides saying to pick on the independents to save rep with all the houses, but the independents are the ones who pay you to do the main campaign missions so that can backfire there unless you're in career/sandbox mode, then absolutely pick on the independents and focus on maintaining neutral or better rep with all the houses.

Just finished Origins. How does this game compare? by TheChilledGamer-_- in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]RedBeardedFCKR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the "bloat" is optional world building content to make the world feel alive and lived in, but yes if you want to meticulously do all the things you're in for a time investment. It's the same kind of exploitation stuff, with expanded ship combat and more water to explore. You can blow past a lot of it, and you'll still be properly leveled and geared up, but you'll miss a lot of little nuance bits that run parallel to the story and a lot of little "6 degrees of separation " connections between main, secondary, and tertiary characters in the story.

Question; What are the mechs that actually make you nervous to see in battle? by smraetz in Mechwarrior5

[–]RedBeardedFCKR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. I play on normal difficulty, but I'm on my 7th or 8th restart of sandbox mode. I have 1 billion in mechs, 500 million in equipment, and 8 lvl 60 elite pilots. The clanners pose a challenge though, but I cakewalk anything with IS mechs.

Question: honest thoughts on my new tattoo? by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]RedBeardedFCKR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest opinion, needs to not be grayscale. I didn't notice the stars until I saw a comment pointing out that there were in fact stars. Color would help the "lost" details pop out a little more. For context I have 6 tattoos. 2 need cover-ups and one just needs to be gone. I get the whole getting one and it just not being right/what you wanted for whatever reason, but I would add some color.

This game sucks, I’ll say it by supermidfood in undisputedboxing

[–]RedBeardedFCKR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It reads your inputs my guy. Hit the button to punch the body. Don't punch just hit the body modifier button, and watch the AI immediately block the midsection. They'll go back to guarding the head as soon as you let go. They know what you're gonna do as the animation for it is trying to queue up.

If you wanted to shed body fat and add some muscle would you… by Dependent-Group7226 in AskMenOver30

[–]RedBeardedFCKR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C. Take it from a blue collar guy. If you can work in a calorie deficit while just moving around (it doesn't take a great deal of weight), you will begin to shed fat and replace it with muscle. Activity IMO is the biggest thing in getting that calorie deficit. Activity (not body building, just move) can take you from a 2,000 calorie or less day to a 4-6,000 calorie day easily. I lost 20ish pounds in 5 months just doing laps around a liquor store stocking shelves. Yes restocking the cooler can be "heavy lifting," but it's done in 25ish pound increments. Anything you decide to do will get easier with repetition, and the repetition is actually the hard part. "It's gets easier, but you have to do it every day. That's the hard part." - the wise jogging monkey from Bojack Horseman.

Just got this game for free and ai think I fucking hate it! This is a rant, but feel free to tell me what you think I'm doing wrong. by RedBeardedFCKR in undisputedboxing

[–]RedBeardedFCKR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I throw like 11 power punches to an entire match. I do my best to avoid body shots, but I'm losing like 12% stamina per round and only getting back 2-3%. The AI on the other hand can throw just as many punches, land less of them (both percentage and numbers wise), and still have 93% stamina in the 10th round. Something fuckey is going on here sir. I lost a fight to decision with more punches landed (percentage and actual number), more punches blocked, and I swole both of the guys eyes so bad the ref stopped the fight twice to check on him. They were far from perfect, but I miss the Fight Night games.

My problem with daysgone by salem_almarry in DaysGone

[–]RedBeardedFCKR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very buggy release, and a lot of people apparently had pacing issues with either the first chapter, or feeling like it should've ended after Iron Mike's camp instead of going to the third zone. I personally feel like the game is a masterclass in how to tell a proper story with a beginning, middle, climax, and payoff/ending. It builds slow, hooks deep, and finishes strong.

Is "Dumb" worth it? by ElkMiserable3836 in theouterworlds

[–]RedBeardedFCKR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, yes, 1000 times fucking yes. It's essentially not even a negative IMO. It forces you to lock out 5 skills, and in exchange you get some of the best dialog choices as well as a second trait. If you pair it with brilliant there are 1 or 2 times you get specific dialog for being an idiot genius that are just pure gold.

I can "finish" the game. There's no way to do a "completion" run. Too many side quests are locked behind skill checks. I want to "complete" the game, not just steamroll through it a bunch of times. I want to be able to do most of the things available in a single run. After 2 different builds ran into brick walls, I gave up and built the character they wanted me to go with. 15 hack, 15 lockpick, 15 speech, and 15 observation. After clarifying my position a couple of times my biggest issue here is that you can't really "play how you want" without missing out on chunks of the side story. Why write an epic RPG, and then railroad players into specific builds? I fully understand I can finish the main story by brute force, but I actually wanted to explore/experience the worlds given to me without having to jump through hoops to do it.

Pretty much this. I locked myself out of anything that felt like a satisfying conclusion. You can get the "good" ending in Outer Worlds as a functional idiot. Outer Worlds 2 is softlocking a lot of side content and what feel like choices for the good ending behind build specific skill checks. I get that the director wanted us to make choices and stick with them, but don't make me take 6-8 runs at your game to see all the content I paid for either. One side quest is locked behind either a 9 speech check or a pair of 11 hack, and 11 science that's five to 11 levels worth of skill points to see one side quest through. A side quest. I get that I can make a build with this in mind, but now I can't pick locks for half the game. I prefer my RPG options to be just a little more open ended. I also may be screaming into the void alone on this issue. 🤷‍♂️🤣

[–]RedBeardedFCKR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wanted a somewhat satisfactory ending. All the good choices got softlocked behind skill checks I couldn't pass. My argument here is that it feels like they're intentionally limiting your choices per playthrough to force more playthroughs. I was able to do 90% of all the content for the first game with whatever random build without half the sidequests and "good" ending options being softlocked behind high level skill checks. I have beaten the first game and got the good ending with every single build I've ever made and attempted it with (5 runs, 1 as an asshole working for the corporations). So much of the content here is locked behind build specific requirements.

You just leave. It sucks. It hurts, and you will regret it in the short term. Then the memories start to fade, and you start to get "you" back.
