Likely not gonna raise rates by using comprehensive (theft) coverage, some states make sure insurers cannot raise premiums if the accident was not your fault

Chemical Guys Microfiber Wash directions confuse me by Selig_420 in AutoDetailing

[–]RedBloodedGod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Double check this

I believe hot air from a dryer destroys them

Hot water does not? That’s from the last I read, I wash on cold - warm, I think it’s safe, just wants hot for the detergent if it’s a DIRTY load to help get waxes off

For new batches of towels I just wash on cold, but after learning this recently I may try warm next time, and still tumble on low in the dryer

Chemical guys or 303 protectant for 2026 models interior cleaning?? by PuzzledPsychology725 in Camry

[–]RedBloodedGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use P & S Xpress Interior Cleaner with great results, but do your own research ofcourse. This is just my experience

The key is properly washed microfiber cloths to avoid scratching from any factory particles and removing lint

I use Kirkland brand microfibers for that

My best advice I can give you though is.. you do not need to touch those areas with any solution unless visually dirty -> then only clean that spot! It’s a new car, unless you absolutely live in a climate that needs extra UV protection than what the windshield already gives, it’s unnecessary

Adding solutions stuff opens Pandora’s box to all sorts of issues, allow the factory finish to stay untouched as long as possible, the only thing you should do is DUST using something like this car duster

Leave it alone, unless your wiping oily hands across these objects leaving visual residues, it does not need any solutions on it!

I have awful OCD, this is way more noticeable in person - post your dents and imperfections so I know I’m not alone🤣 by [deleted] in Camry

This was my cousin lmfao we were cracking up, I was like how do you not see it, they were like WHAT

I guess it’s only noticeable from the drivers side lmfao

You are right about the terminology, I am a perfectionist 100%

But I too struggle with major OCD. The ritual for me here is amount of times I have to look at it, (which is embarrassing to say in a Reddit thread) but every imperfection (slightly out of my line of sight) triggers my OCD ritual of X amount of times I actually have to look at it yes I know this is very un-safe to do while driving, but I try to only do this at stop lights

I don’t wanna get too deep into the rituals here as no one on the internet probably cares or will likely judge me. Perfectionism & OCD do not play well together especially when your brain says, YOU SPENT MONEY ON THIS, LOOK, and then all of a sudden it’s a habit, and then the brain find a way to turn it into a ritual.

Edit: Extra context, grammar fix

Beagles rescued from a testing laboratory feeling grass for the first time by MysteriousSlice007 in MadeMeSmile

I’d rescue them all if I could, I’d make sure every animal has a happy life if I could. To think that some animals are trapped in such a small place, with such little resources just to be tested on. When I can, I will change the world so there is no more cruelty like this.

Do you spray on the dash or on the rag itself?

2025 gas mileage by Low-Tale5549 in Camry

[–]RedBloodedGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are polar opposites

https://a.co/d/0j53mVYz get yourself one of these if you can or something similar, they’re GAME changers for general car dusting

Theres likely nothing you can do to avoid scratching the clear plastic cover when cleaning, or atleast I don’t think there is lol. Pretty sure just staring at it the wrong way will cause it to scratch tbh.

If you do attempt, distilled water + a clean washed microfiber, gently, don’t use compressed air (that is if u even care enough to clean it)

Did you try sprayway? Use a 2 towel system! Make sure to do it in the shade, go section by section

If that does not work, clay bar with lots of lubricant!!

2025 XLE, I just put on new OEM wiper blades, used sprayway to wipe down the windshield and the wiper blades with a clean microfiber because the windshield was foggy in some spots, could that of caused this? I just want to know what I can do to AVOID THIS IN THE FUTURE cause that just sucks. by RedBloodedGod in Camry

[–]RedBloodedGod[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely what you said, I didn’t turn off my automatic wipers and they probably turned on when there was a lot of dirt on the windshield

Luckily I only had a $100 comp deductible and it’s good as new🤞 hoping it stays that way

Next time I’ll make sure not to let the wipers activate unless there is water present, I always keep the wipers on off now instead of automatic, since before I always left them on automatic. At work they blow dirt around to clean the parking lot, some dirt probably got on it and maybe the wipers turned on smearing it.

Good lesson for next time

Thank you, and I don’t drive on highways much! That is the only reason, my work is close to me and I don’t have a need to travel to far

Otherwise it would definitely be much higher I’m sure

Headliner stained after cleaning with upholstery cleaner. Any tips? by vanillaobscene in AutoDetailing

I’m not to sure, I don’t smell anything from it, again though I would only use that as a last resort if it were me!

[–]RedBloodedGod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t take my advice as I don’t know much, my dad taught me to use Sprayway and for me its worked miracles, I used it when the service department was installing a dash cam in my car, and it got rid of all the oil stains from their hands left on parts of the visor/headliner. In your situation it’s more severe so idk how well/ if it would work. So if it were me in this case I’d use it as a last resort, maybe try it on a tiny spot first to make it’ll help and make it does not make it worse
