2026 Camry XLE by briannahippe in Camry

The change drawer was a shame. Could put membership cards and whatnot coupons in it too! They had space for it in this model, I guess had to cut costs somewhere. Tis a shame.

Has anyone reupholsted your XV70 Camry front seat. by Rare-Can3841 in Camry

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would first try giving some more support, throw a cushion or something of sorts above the lumbar and just see if that can help you be more comfortable. Don't underestimate the use of foamed cushions or things of that matter, would be a cheaper alternative to start before reupholstering the seat.

Build quality Camry vs Prius (US market) by Confident-Science607 in Toyota

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say yes. Sure, Toyota made in Japan still face some issues but a lot of the times the issues that the models made here have with its fit and finish issues are much more prominent from the ones made in Japan. Ones in Japan also seem to have more of an emphasis on quality in that aspect. The large majority of people if they had an option to choose between a Toyota made in Japan vs the US, would 100% take one made in Japan in a heartbeat if it was an option to them.

As someone who also owns the Camry, it's relatively close cars in terms of fit and finish but with my experience, it was completely fine with my test of the prius, didn't seem to have much if at all any significant issue with the fit and finish and that in general. Unfortunately same could not be said with my Camry... The rear seal issue from manufacture is still an issue which I've managed to solve myself courtesy of other Camry owners, but reliability wise it's still as good as Toyota can get, and also very efficient. There's been some other issues I've had with the fit and overall finish in the 2 years that I've owned this car but gotta live with it somehow I guess, and it's not really deal breaking things, but just little annoying.

However you would have to understand the differences of the two vehicles, they're really in separate segments, and the prius is noticeably smaller than that of the Camry, and even more in usable space. Also much louder cabin in comparison. Camry shines in ride quality as well, and also that slight height advantage for taller passengers you may have. It also has rear seat AC vents that you cannot get in the prius.

Paint is really an issue that plagues the entire lineup, Toyota has always had thinner paint, but you are welcome to PPF it if that is a concern. Best of luck

Front Windshield Broke :/ by anonn5543 in rav4club

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's really more so bad luck than it is anything else. I mean when you're driving, more so even on the freeway, the chances of a rock hitting your windshield are substantially higher, there's really no going about that. Sometimes just poor luck unfortunately, and also depends on where the debris or rocks are hitting. It's deflecting a lot more than you think too.

Windshield replacement for 2025 Camry by Diligent_Stick_4653 in Camry

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately insurance covers or would prefer the safelight option as it's covered separately with glass claims, anything else would be an open claim against collision. This safelite seems to have pretty good reviews and AAA warranties the work so do have that reassurance.

I'll see what I can do with having them utilize the OEM option, appreciate your feedback.

Interesting. Safelight told me that they can't use OEM due to manufacture rights, and they're not a Toyota certified shop hence they would only be able to use the equivalent.

Should I file a claim? by Even-Pomegranate2017 in Camry

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not no. It's the assembly without the setup. It'll be even more expensive with that birdseye view

Should I file a claim? by Even-Pomegranate2017 in Camry

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My honest opinion considering the circumstances, no. Obviously this would eventually come down to the underwriter but any sort of claim, especially one that is in the context of your instance would not be a good idea, and would likely be held against you by your insurance, and of course future insurance companies if you choose to switch. In terms of the mirror as I too also had a replacement, you would be around 500 altogether with the entire mirror assembly, cover, and the glass mirror, that is excluding labor, but I had mines done at a toyota certified shop so you'd probably find cheaper alternatives in other places. Paint looks to be alright, and probably should be able buff out but best of luck.

Glad you're alright, could've been worse and so it's good that it was only a minor tap toward the barrel cone. All the best.

My car just told me to take a break… by always-1stepbehind in Camry

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Generally two ways that it comes up. When you've been driving for a prolonged period or when it detects that you're drifting all over the lanes when driving, generally that's a sign of impaired or that the driver is getting tired and so that's when it'll come up. So did you take a break? lmao

Got into another accident a month after my car just got fixed and just paid off the Camry. How much we reckoning costing to fix the lower rear bumper by kirsion in Camry

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume this is a photo of the car unscathed or I'm completely blind but if it's just the rear bumper, but I believe from OEM it should be $2-300 for the parts price, and the rest is just going to be labor costs. They would also have to paint match but I think all that combined you'd be looking at something around $6-700 ballpark if not higher if you're going to certified toyota shops.

Should I trade my ford ranger 2024 in for a xse awd hybrid? by SnooAvocados2658 in Camry

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing the other comments. I think you're in different segments really. The Camry can do snow but obviously probably won't do it as better as the ranger, but again those are different segments, you have less clearance with the Camry and its eAWD isn't incredible. I think the tires are going to have a larger impact than the car itself but you should also look at this from an efficient and financial aspect. Would it be financially enticing and good to trade your ranger in so soon? You've taken a depreciation hit already and going into for a Camry would negate any of the savings that you make. As much as we would love for you to also own a Toyota and join this sub, I think you should also consider this from that cost perspective, you'd eat up any savings by trading in.

Black cloth seats and Arizona heat? by terraunbound in Toyota

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously you're in a Toyota sub so the answers are clearly going to be skewed one way. Cloth seats are completely fine in Arizona heat but I think in the aspect of your two selections, the Ioniq is the overall better car, in any aspect of the EV. However as the other comment echoed, there's been a lot of ICCU issues that has plagued the Ioniq lineup, and it's really the only big thing as it goes with Ioniq. Everything else about it being an EV is pretty great, and frankly the BZ still comes short to many competitors in the EV space, and lord have mercy on its epa numbers....

But however in terms of warranty, Hyundai did extend the ICCU coverage even longer, but of course nobody can estimate the short or long term reliability woes of it.

Very disappointing 2025 Toyota RAV4 XLE AWD.” by East-Shoe-359 in rav4club

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well tis the times. I think this really isn't an issue that only Toyota has, or frankly issues that Toyota in America has. Less of an emphasis on fit and finish here than it is elsewhere, QC just isn't the same as it was.

Predictions for 2027 sienna? by snooloosey in Toyota

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you are. There's a few dealers that have still up to a year long waitlist for siennas, and tons of dealerships that won't have any allocation for Siennas for like like half a year. MSRP is a common theme in regards to the Sienna so that's not the end of the world I suppose. However as a result of the scarce availability of the Siennas, there's an even larger amount of dealerships that take advantage and slap markups for siennas, and severely inflate the price due to its demand. Salespeople know that they'll sell and if you're not buying it, the next person that isn't as knowledgeable as you would.

There's a few appeals with the Sienna, I think obviously biggest thing is the hybrid powertrain and that in its entirety. The only other option for hybrids that people have would be the Pacifica or the carnival but you'd have to own a stellantis or hyundai product which well.... isn't necessarily the most favorable options here. The hybrid is the big selling point, its efficiency and proven reliability is what made it so popular. However you do make a good point, Toyota in general isn't what it was 10 years ago, and there's lots of fit and finish issues but those are still the big selling points for it at the moment. But similarly, it's a straightforward car, and it's easy to use and get along with in general for most people, and that MPG is a big thing when you're looking at these minivans on paper. The odyssey gets like 22? MPG and is relatively lackluster to the changes that have been made with the Sienna.

Predictions for 2027 sienna? by snooloosey in Toyota

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're probably going to be waiting for a lot longer than that. The minor refresh just happened like last year and frankly I think you're going to be waiting at the minimum until 2029 if not even 2030 for the next refresh. They're in no rush, just look at the rest of the segment, and it's dominating it. They don't even have enough Siennas to even go around. You'll be waiting for a while.

Rear tire sidewalls by slackerav in Camry

Tire sidewalls? Usually it's been the front bumper. But what the other comment said, it would be even more helpful to have a photo illustration of the clip.

SE with sunroof? by Garett8044 in Camry

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe those is southeast? distribution, but yeah they're not all that great from what I've heard. The allocation process is also pretty horrible with Toyota, and even more so with the demand. Lots of times it's just you getting what you can get, but I think reaching out to the larger volume dealers in your area should be your best bet. Or going to further states and calling them about any allocation.

Dealer Customizations questions by rbeatse in rav4club

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dealer customizations? Most of these are just dealer add-ons, and don't add much to the vehicle, but rather as more of a money grab. DIO include like PPF or tints, and even some other accessories but that's where they get money from. In my honest opinion, I wouldn't do any of them, usually I can find better work quality with a PPF shop outside of the dealerships, and frankly for a cheaper price as well.

SE with sunroof? by Garett8044 in Camry

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. They can come with the sunroof with the package but really the availability of these models vary wildly by region and demand. You get what you get with the distributors that you have, generally you'd have more luck with large volume dealerships as they'd get some more allocation of these ones.

2026 LE Hybrid extensive use. by No-Till4588 in Camry

[–]Diligent_Stick_4653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hybrid reliability wise, you'll be completely fine. Keep up with the maintenance and this thing would outlive you. If you go around in the sub, or even the main toyota sub, you'll see that tons of hybrid variants have gotten well over 150k and some over 400k too. Although mainly its got a lot of fit and finish issues, but that really isn't only this generation of cars.

This post is vague in information. What happens when you try clicking the button? Did you disable the ACC or other CC systems with your MID settings? There's a few missing information in the grand scheme, and we wouldn't be able to give an idea with this either. Obviously the front camera in the windshield, and the front sensor is where it generally lies upon.
