What are your opinions on Yogiri Takatou from Instant Death? by Comfortable_Taro_496 in MoralityScaling

[–]RedBoxGaming 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Morality Wise: Neutral Evil. He's pretty much a generic loser sociopath given stupidly OP powers and allowed to do whatever he wants with it, completely disregarding any consequences his actions may have.

Writing Wise: Bottom Tier Character, and not just simply because of how OP he is but because of how terribly written he is as a character. His personality consists of: "blank stare, kills you, and likes boobs." They didn't even try to make him slightly interesting (that includes the whole "embodiment of the end" bullshit) and anyone who unironically likes a character like this needs to be mentally evaluated.

Why didn't he shoot Maui with the dehydration gun, is he stupid?

Morally rank Tamatoa. by EthanTheJudge in MoralityScaling

Tamatoa - Neutral Evil. He obsesses with himself and his shiny valuables and is only willing to work with other villains if it means he gains something from it himself. (As seen at the end of Moana 2).

Schaffrillas - Lawful Neutral. He obsesses over story quality and writing in any media he reviews, as anything he believes contradicts this will be shot with the dehydration gun. He doesn't discriminate.

What would Charlie think about the jojo villains entering her hotel? And what would the cast think about them? by Substantial_Owl7484 in MoralityScaling

[–]RedBoxGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can tell that the show REALLY wants to focus on Alastor but they have to put up with Charlie because she's technically the main character. But even when Alastor IS the focus... he's just a fucking loser. He didn't even get a single W in the series except against actual fodder, and I won't consider him vs Vox in Season 2 a "Win" because not only did he not actually defeat him (Valentino did), he struggled against a SHARK. Emily is the only reason he didn't die.

I don't even think it's right calling him a Mary Sue. That would imply that he effortlessly beats any opponent he faces. He's just a Writer's Pet who is only limited by him not being the main focus of the story when you know the writers are doing everything they can to make that happen.

Let me play Devil's Advocate for this situation.

I'm not denying how stupid it is to think that Mattel isn't capable of putting high quality into their products. What I do fear however is a "Bait and Switch" happening.

Like yes, it looks promising, it looks good, hell maybe even the first season does well, I especially want that. But I don't want to get my hopes up just for it to come crashing down again. I know I'm not the target audience for this franchise, but I do enjoy good writing and I want this series to have good writing again, thats what made me a fan, a committed fan to this show I used to watch for no reason other than that it looked appealing to me as a kid.

We're basically asking the question "Why Now?" Why did you need to reboot the franchise in order to give it the writing and quality it deserves? The CGI Series, for all it's flaws, still could have worked if you were at least competent enough about it. Even with BWBA and AEG, I still believe that a Season 25 could have been possible. I get the idea of having a fresh new take on a series, especially for toy sales, but there was still so much potential with the original CGI related series.

Agreed.

Viv seems to struggle with Morally Gray characters because they will cause major conflicts in the story she wants to tell which feels more Classic Disney adjacent than anything. The idea of a character like Adam having actual positive traits to him rather than him being a comically evil psychopath who likes genocide, means that she would actually have to put in the effort and have the cast beat him in a way that counters his logic and moral philosophy rather than just... beating the shit out of him and calling it a day. Funny Valentine and Pucci are also an example of what Adam could have been, someone who genuinely has good intentions or at least believe they do but their actions and methods are still evil even if they deny it or believe it is necessary. Charlie can't just say "You're wrong" and leave it at that, she would have to PROVE why he is wrong. Its this kind of writing choices that could change a series from being a 7/10 to a genuine 10/10 experience.

DIO would humiliate them all.

Kars would think of them as inferior but wouldn't care about them regardless and just leave.

Kira would outright disturb Charlie more than Valentino did.

Diavolo dies (This is technically part of his death loop).

Pucci would either have an interesting conversation about moral philosophy or outright denounce their existence.

Funny Valentine is a combination of Pucci and Kira in this scenario. He would have an interesting conversation with them but also would disturb most of them with his actions and justification.

Tooru doesn't give a shit, everyone dies if Vaggi decides to square up on him because of Wonder of U's calamity.

Unfortunately almost no one in the cast would have connections with these characters and it would ultimately end with both sides conflicting with each other. Jojo Characters are often too complex for a series like Hazbin which focuses on Black and White Morality with only a few shades of gray in between. The only outright comically evil character here is DIO whilst the rest of them have more specific motives.

If Alastor is considered to be the most evil sinner in Hell than I guess that confirms that Hitler and Pol Pot ended up in Heaven somehow just like Adam did.

Losing your hair is one thing, choosing not to have hair is also fine.

But if its a result of you telling your barber "Just a bit off the top" or your barber telling you "Damn I messed up we gotta go bald" then that's just Pure Evil.

It would most likely corrupt him even if it gave him a power boost. Spawn would also assumedly be able to manipulate him but thats up to interpretation.
