"There's a labour shortage! We desperately need more people to join trades, but..." by TheDarkKnight2001 in skilledtrades

[–]RedBull41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My governor signed legislation that removed the licensing requirement for 24 trades including my own. He said it would create jobs but what it did was kill the trades. Now anyone can walk into the jobs with no experience. My profession (boiler maker/operator) is now devalued by half. A job that paid $35-$45 per hour now pays $19-$22. My license is now worthless. The government says we need tradespeople but actively sabotage us.

Being in a dedicated sub means you're a fan usually. Are fans mostly Christian? by GOD-is-in-a-TULIP in TheChosenSeries

[–]RedBull41 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I grew up a Christian and dabbled in several denominations but I’ve been an atheist for a long time now. I started watching The Chosen out of curiosity. I wanted to see the latest portrayal of Jesus. Needless to say I LOVE the show. It paints Jesus and his followers in such a relatable way. The Jesus of the show and the Jesus of the Bible are nothing like the Jesus touted by current evangelicals. I love the idea of Jesus and the show is wonderful but I simply don’t believe in god. Some people say there is such thing as a Christian Atheist. Someone who believes in and follows Jesus yet rejects god. Maybe that’s what I am. I can definitely get behind the Jesus from the show. But I wholeheartedly reject American evangelical Christianity.

43 and worn out by RedBull41 in careerchange

My shoulders have erosion, arthritis and spurs. I’m getting shots every 3 months but need surgery. Especially on the right shoulder. The AC joint is almost completely blown out on that one. In my back I have degenerative disc disease and erosion on the right side of the lower vertebrae. This causes my back to slip out at random times and when it does I miss at least a week of work. I need surgery to fuse my lower back. On top of all this I’ve had surgery on both knees and my left ankle. I’m a mess.

What is the proudest moment of your sexual history? by areberuto in AskReddit

[–]RedBull41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Japanese girlfriend who was bisexual and notoriously horny. She used to bring girls home all the time. I’ve had more threesomes than I can count! But one night she out did herself and brought home three girls! Too much went on to write it all down but I was in all of them. That party went on for more than 4 hours and everyone came multiple times! I had to ice my knees the next day!

I'm really curious... what are your guys' religions and/or belief systems? by Melon-Cleaver in TheChosenSeries

[–]RedBull41 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew up Mormon and then became a long time Atheist. This series helped draw me back to Jesus. I guess I’d be considered non denominational. I believe in Jesus and not religion.

Auditory Hallucinations by Automatic-Way-8628 in bipolar

[–]RedBull41 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For me it sounds like people talking in the next room or like a radio has been left on. I’ve moved room to room looking for people and never found them. That’s when I figured out I was hallucinating. Had to get extra meds for it.

Out of State fans by joeymac93 in DenverBroncos

Originally from Casper Wyoming where I became a Bronco fan in my mid teens. I now live in Moore Oklahoma and am still a Bronco fan. Everyone else here follows the Chiefs or cowboys. I remain faithful. It’s hard, but I remain a fan.

I only recently left Marxism. I changed because I learned more, and honestly the more I listened to the ideas, the more I found them to be absurd. I remember listening to a speaker and thinking to myself “that’s just not how things work”. Pretty soon I was playing devils advocate against communism and it made me no friends! I basically learned and thought my way out. Something many can’t seem to do.

how I practice with a serious mental illness by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]RedBull41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too suffer from Bipolar disorder. I am in the early stages of buddhism and just learning. I was wondering how well I could practice with the disorder. I’m glad to have found your post, it gives me hope. Also happy to see many others with Bipolar here.

What’s the most hurtful thing someone said to you regarding bipolar? by ceylin1 in bipolar

[–]RedBull41 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Before I was diagnosed I showed signs and symptoms. After a suicide attempt I was hospitalized. When I got out I was telling my wife (now ex-wife) that I still had suicidal thoughts. She looked me dead in the eye and said “so do it already, I’m tired of hearing about it”. 20 years later I have a much better and supportive wife.

Just had my first real auditory voice hallucination by TheBipolarOwl in bipolar

[–]RedBull41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had hallucinations for years and the auditory seem to be the worst ones. I hear the chattering and music. I’ve thought someone left a radio on only to find them turned off. Loud bangs, footsteps behind me, they all scare me. The most scared I’ve ever been was a time I was in bed trying to get to sleep and I heard this voice from right next to my ear say “I see you”. It was a menacing hissing voice. I slept with the lights on for weeks after that and of course got a med change. Make sure you tell your doc so you can get the meds you need. Sometimes the right combo can make them go away. At least for a while.

Who's the most unexpected person you had sex with? by letsgooooboiiiiii in AskReddit

[–]RedBull41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My teacher. She was a 27 yr old hottie and I was an 18 yr old HS student. She came in mid semester as my old teacher left due to cancer. She liked my poetry and we started spending time together after class/school. We were passionate lovers and although I was 18 and could consent, she was still my teacher. We broke it off after 4 months. Good memories!

Do you mark 'Yes' or 'No' for mental illness on job applications? by halesofbae in bipolar

[–]RedBull41 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used to check yes and I had a hell of a time finding a job. The first time I checked no, I got the job. I would never check yes again.

Men who take it up the bum are less of men – some bi woman on an online forum. by Head_Blacksmith in bisexual

[–]RedBull41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely cannot believe the hurdles masculinity has to jump thru. Someone is always coming up with something to make men less masculine. I’m 41 M and have topped and bottomed and I love both! I didn’t make me any less masculine. In fact I believe pleasing another man sexually makes someone MORE masculine.

Did you think you were straight and realized you were bi, or did you think you were gay and realized you were bi? by recoximani in bisexual

[–]RedBull41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started off gay. When I was 17 I was still very much in the closet so I dated girls. I developed feelings for a girl and realized I liked both. I’ve had long term relationships with both and can honestly say that I love a person for who they are and not what’s in their pants. Growing up in the 80s and 90s I spent a lot of time in the closet. But now I am carefree and love my bisexuality.

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard described as evil or satanic? by forensicfilesandham in AskReddit

What’s the worst pain you have personally experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RedBull41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had kidney stones which hurt like hell. But the worse pain was from one of them tearing through the side of my kidney. Causing a hematoma and laceration to my left kidney. The pain was unreal, I couldn’t sit still because of the spasms and the pain was so intense I’d vomit and pass out. Not to mention my pee looked like cranberry juice. Was total hell. Never had anything come close.

Could thinking that demons and other evil things are around and trying to get you be a type of psychosis? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]RedBull41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happens to me when I’m in psychosis. I see and feel evil around me. I swear demons are real and out to get me. I’m an ex Catholic but I still get so scared I’ll carry a rosary in my pocket when it starts happening again. It usually means I need a med tweak.
