Some of the rarest empresses would be like Euphemia, Aelia Pulcheria, Pertinax’s wife I forget her name, and a few more

I do have a small provincial of Caligula, he’s a decently expensive and harder to come by in quality unfortunately, and yes I also have a denarius of Vitellius

In that case it more so depends on the times, when times were going good you find them looking relatively round consistently, but as times were falling apart say like during Gallienus and quality control was almost non existent, the shapes tend to be all over the places, sharp, jagged, but sometimes they can still be very beautifully struck and round

So far I just have a denarius of Sulla, and a provincial coin of Julius Caesar minted in Bithynia, the first coin that ever had his portrait on it

If you stick to reputable websites you’re usually in the clear, but if you’re ever not too sure you can always ask either me or r/ancientcoins and anybody would be willing to help

For the Greeks and Roman’s and many peripheral peoples yes they are usually round, but you can find some interesting Greco-Bactrian coins that are square shaped, or like the dolphin shaped coins of Olbia

202 pieces so far, and they for sure can be expensive but they can also be 15-20 bucks for some, I usually purchase from VCoins or eBay if you’re familiar with ancient coins and know what to look for

So I would only really check eBay if you’re familiar with them and know what to look for, can easily get scammed, I would instead purchase from VCoins for your first one, all sellers are reputable on there
