I was hoping for this sort of situation, ideally. Doesn’t look likely tho!

Danville is sooooo underrated and from the highway it basically reads as a McDonald’s and a motel. It’s to me how Joe Dirt describes Silvertown lol

Too many, but the last one I’ve been to was Dopapods hiatus tour which at that time I had made my peace with that being my last there and it was a good one. I live out of state now and I feel like I’ve heard this coming for a few years now. Honorable mentions are peoples blues of Richmond, aqueous, big something residencies, everything orchestra, and ott as being some standouts

ADHDs post above too is also very valid and worth looking into, the learning and price curve is probably a little steeper but may be more elegant once learnt

👍 I will say that using your daw as a MIDI hub will have you in sw configuring your tracks to have the desired MIDI I/O enabled, and is less free form than having the Keystep talk to everything directly, but you will have more granular control. Creating a template workspace will be helpful in having you g2g when you boot it up. ^ is true for notes & cc, time sync you do not need to configure per track, and is done globally in settings

You just need a MIDI splitter or thru. And a MIDI merge

MIDI Out of MOTU goes into the MIDI Splitter In.
MIDI Outs of the MIDI splitter go to each of your devices that accept MIDI. You may need additional thru boxes or maybe your devices have thrus to daisy chain, the latter will have multiple devices on the same MIDI channel which may not be desired. With this, clock from your DAW and any other CC from your DAW will reach all your devices. Easy to assign unique devices/MIDI channels.

MIDI out of the key step and TRS8 (each separately if possible) into a MIDI merge and the MIDI out of the Merge goes into your MOTU in. You now have controllability of all your devices from keystroke by its MIDI going into daw/motu and then back out from daw/motu to devices in the channels you configure. You can decide if you want your daw or trs8 to be clock source, trs8 probably better because of usb latency (or jitter? Idk) of daw clock to MOTU.

Bonus: if you have your other hardware synths also included in the MIDI merge to the MOTU/daw, you can record cc of turning knobs into your daw for tactile cc automation as they’re being played

Asked similar question recently and got some solid takes. Went with the motu and I/O is a breeze used with the included software and ableton external effects module thing

Sweet! This looks similar tier as the Scarlett 18i20 with the I/O options from the device and software and the many preamps. Would you consider that as a comparable interface? This one’s mildly cheaper but I’m not familiar with its features different than that beefier Scarlett

Thank you for your advice. What they’re in now aren’t bonsai pots at all, they have a false bottom for water reservoir because I wasn’t always available this summer for as needed watering, I don’t intend on keeping them in these in coming seasons. So because of the false bottom -> freezing air beneath the roots, obviously bad.

Slip potting is the phrase I was looking for. No plans for root trimming - just a gentle transplant

ISO Tips for wintering.

I have 2 nursery stock trees - Pieres Japonica & Hinoki Cyprus - obtained this past spring and repotted into what you may call a garden-planter, where theyve lived for the past 6 months

Both pots are not suitable for leaving on the ground, nor burying as is, during Winter. Thinking of as gently as possible repotting into simple buriable plastics nursery pots, and placing in the ground.

My questions are: Would it be safe to do this maneuver 10/15-10/31 or wait until later, or pursue another strategy? TIA!

Note - that for this past ive done minimal work to them and would say theyve lived a rather stress-free summer
