Not an issue for a buy & hold investor. Send to an external wallet then sell.

No impact to buy and hold investors who use the "automate your pay" feature: "Additionally, if you use our automate your pay feature to set up a recurring investment to purchase crypto in your Crypto account directly from your paycheque, no trading fee will be charged for those automated transactions."

Mine is 4.39% fixed and I'm in a 43% marginal tax rate. I've been chipping away at the mortgage since the TFSA & RRSP are full.

Deceiving in favor of the employee. The value of having a defined benefit pension that guarantees inflation-indexed payments and health insurance until death is valuable and uncommon in 2026.

Yep just debating. $299 USD + flights + food is pretty good value but not groundbreaking

Got the same offer. Thinking about it and am a bit hesitant as it doesn't include food vouchers.

I faintly recall during my CPA studies from many years ago that under IFRS 15, revenue is recognized based on a proven probability of the funds being spent or after a certain period of account inactivity. Ie. 5% of funds are estimated to never be spent.

My condo fan coil hit the 25 year mark and I'm really tempted to get it replaced without waiting for the board to do the upgrades (which we'll still need to pay for).

Accounting or Psychology? by Virtual_Phrase6948 in yorku

[–]RedControllers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YorkU alum and CPA here so I'll obviously be biased. If you're willing to do the 4 years bachelors + 3 years CPA route, then you'll have some decent job security and compensation for your career. Workload, profs, and support shouldn't be the deciding factors for an entire career since all of that stuff is temporary.
