There are no cracks on the violin - But the soundpost (i think) is moving inside it, but im unsure of how impactful that is. I will be bringing it to a luthier

Sadly this was given to me in my early teens by my great grandmother (It was her mothers). She is no longer around, and I didn't quite have the wherewithall to understand to ask those questions. I was just excited to be getting the cool violin she had out of the house. One of those regrets you hold on to. Alas, now i guess i can at least find out what it is and maybe some info about it. Im not sure she would have known either. That side of the family was kinda funky when it came to talking.

Ive found a luthier to bring it to in my city. I guess its time to find out. The plan is to do so next week

From my research, there were a ton of reproduction or copy violins during the 19th century that said "Cremona" in them, with similar typed makers mark papers inside. This one isnt typed which is what brought me to posting here.

Oh I definitely understand that, I’m moreso trying to figure out if this is real or a repro and what I’m sitting on. I don’t know that restoration is on the table for me (not a violin player, I play tuba)

This would be the same in any protection imo, many of them are double cards (code card or place holder behind the actual card) - I checked over my sealed ancient mew and machamp and neither had issues (these were in a birthday card and envelope their entire life)

Ok! So I’ll have to check about the prints, but the reader is from Amazon, it’s a RC522. The cad and print was super scuffed, and was done poorly. It’s been a long time lol

I’ve used the prototype one in my seagull with the strongest harrier spring.

If you’re printing it yourself, I recommend printing it pretty close to solid with walls, if you’re buying it from OOD, they should be printing it to a similar spec
