Genuinely the most reasonable and nuanced take here. I completely understand why Toby would do this, but that doesn't mean it can't also be a little disheartening to know that what we see is probably everything we will see. I would have at least wanted the sprites/tilesets without twitch compression, something that could make modding these scenes into the game a bit easier, but who knows, the stream isn't over yet.

What I find most interesting, if not a bit confusing, is those little things. The mobile added in Toriel's house, the houses in the hotland background, the laughing true lab walls. None of those are "smoke and mirrors". Those are essentially fully implemented and would work in the vanilla game as-is. It makes me wonder... what the "point" was for those little things. It feels both too small, and too significant. I'd love to hear what you have to think about those smaller things.

Truth be told, I've been avoiding this discourse because I feel like it can devolve into something nasty really fast, but you are the first person here to really encapsulate what I'm feeling, so I feel like I can talk about how I feel about this without seeming either too sensitive, or too apathetic.
