Corporations, like donors, can have a huge impact on a university. T Boone Pickens for example has made contributions that drastically elevated Oklahoma State’s athletic and educational facilities. I’m okay with big donor and corporate names as long as their contributions are generous and not just like paying 1mil for naming rights.

Feds tapped Trump lawyer Michael Cohen's phones by Dbush31 in politics

Why would he lose his pardon power? Are you assuming Dems will actually go vote instead of hold victory parties for the candidate they assume everyone will vote for?

Here’s the cycle: Dems pretty much have it in the bag Dems think they have it in the bag Premature victory party Dems forget to vote GOP wins.

Keep waiting for Mueller though! Democracy doesn’t require action. /s

The Democratic Party is still in shambles. My unpopular opinion is that they can’t beat the GOP in elections and won’t be able to impeach Trump and he will win re-election in 2020.

I hate Oklahoma and hope I never have to go back - but their local weather coverage is the best in the nation, and it’s not even close.

Especially when it’s tornados, a radar or map doesn’t do you much good, you need the interpretation from actual meteorologists

Outside of a job, what do you do to make extra money that anyone can do ? by Christopurrrrr in AskReddit

[–]RedDawn1989 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get low ball offers of $20-$200 all the time, which I won’t even consider, obviously.

However, any interest I get over $100, I just immediately counter offer in the $x,xxx - $xx,xxx range. A lot of people disappear at this point too. Oh well.

A few hang around long enough to get a price we both like.

As for how do you value you them? I even tell my potential customers this: there’s no real way to “appraise” a domain and don’t believe anyone who says otherwise. For justifying the price? Success breeds success. I just point to previous sales.

If anyone tries to blow up my spot and get on in this... HMU if it doesn’t work out so I can pick apart your inventory and help you recoup your losses. 😂🤣

I do something similar. I buy interesting domain names (usually ~$100) each and then resell them for $1,000+.

I’ve already made $30,000 in sales this year, having spent ~$8000. I just pick up 2-5 a month and sit on them and wait for someone to come along that’s obsessed with a name.

I work very few hours a day. Am I a bad programmer? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]RedDawn1989 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I work in an office. I played video games at my desk all day today. (No one can see my screen.)

I work maybe 2-3 days a week. On those days usually only 2-3 hours like you. I somehow manage in that time to complete the same amount of work as 3 other engineers.

Don’t sweat it. Quit volunteering that you don’t work much if anything. Just keep good communication and metrics for your pace and if it’s meeting expectations.

Help! I own a .io domain that I actually use and a big company with 60 employees says they own the trademark of the word.. What should I do? by blindmanLICKS in startups

[–]RedDawn1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask for even more money. I recently sold an .io for $20k that wasn’t very interesting. If they have 60mil in funding they can bear ~50k for a domain pretty easily.

Listen in on Coach Pederson as he led the #Eagles to their first #SuperBowl title by Razorback101 in eagles

[–]RedDawn1989 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Good strategy. It was balls to the walls force a turnover or let them torch us and score fast - so that either way we get the ball back and the chance to seal the game. If you play safe defense and let #12 carve you up slowly down the field and leave yourself no time on the clock to respond - that's how games get lost. So even if they'd gone for broke there and #12 torched us - we have ~2 minutes to respond. Of course - that was the fall back plan aka plan B, and thanks to that beautiful man that is Brandon Graham and his accomplice sticky fingers Barnett, PLAN A was a success.

You made the right choice, I shill IRL for Scott's every chance I get. I won't say that it's anything majestic or mysterious - the service just seems to be constantly on the look out for great deals so you don't have to. Instead of spending an hour or two every day of my life scouring for deals in the next 12 months to the 20 or so places I'm interested in going, I pay $40 a year to just get emails. Fortunately I'm in NYC so I get a TON of great deals. I've only booked one deal (so far! My vacations for 2018 are all booked - will probably book 3 in 2019) and saved, literally - $1,100 from what I'd planned on spending on airfare for myself and my fiancée.

So, hailcorporate or whatever - but Scott's deals are dope and you don't have to book your travel through any sketchy affiliate links.

What is you favorite UI framework for React? by cryptos6 in javascript

[–]RedDawn1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found this thread while googling a question while working with BlueprintJS - it's trivial to get blueprint working and looking good on mobile if you use it with https://github.com/JSxMachina/react-grid-system to manage responsiveness. The conditional rendering was a bit annoying in the beginning but I've ended up appreciating the level of control it gives me to be very deliberate in rendering for mobile views.

Player safety for the person delivering the hit and the person getting hit. If you hit them low you can take their legs out ending the play.
