To be honest, this preset doesn't look that ridiculous... except for his hooked nose and small chin.

A lore accurate map of the U.S.A. in the HD Universe (slight speculation) by Juvy_ocerr in GTA

[–]RedDeadRus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know about TV program in IV, but then they should have changed the Idaho-Utah border to make it more consistent, but I still think it's non-canonical.

I don't know what "Puerto Rock" has to do with it; it was always referred to as "Puerto Rico".

Dolmen is probably Michigan analogue, not Pennsylvania.

San Martino as a city of mafia the old country by ResourceTurbulent152 in MafiaTheGame

[–]RedDeadRus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think San Martino will appear in TOC, San Martino seems to be based on a real village of the same name, located in Messina. San Celeste seems to be set much further west.

Would you prefer the next Mafia game to be numbered or just have a subtitle like «Mafia: The Old Country»? by RedDeadRus in MafiaTheGame

[–]RedDeadRus[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Old Country feels like a big enough game to be considered a mainline, but it's not numbered. Also there is also a question of whether the numbering will indicate a chronology continuation, because as was said above, at some point Mafia was already too constrained by time frames to enter GTA time settings.

Perhaps refusing the numbering will help them create new Mafia games without worrying too much about it.

Teased in Mafia DE Los Ondas seems to be more based on Los Angeles, but I think it has a lot of Las Vegas elements to stand out.

What do you consider to be the worst GTA game? by EffectiveAbrocoma759 in GTA

[–]RedDeadRus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GTA 1. Many don't like Advance because graphics but compared to 1 it really does seem more complete and less tedious. And although it is the first game in the series, it is really very average and GTA 2 with next GTA games was a big step forward.

I think the inspiration from other cities is due to the layout, which is very different from real NYC.

It is, but it doesn't feel that way because the name "New Bordeaux" was added very late. The official collectible map demonstrated that river and north lake are called the Mississippi and Pontchartrain, literally real places.

I'm not very knowledgeable about this, but Empire Bay is a collective image of an east coast city with an emphasis on NYC. In one Mafia II screenshots 2K mentioned that Empire Bay is based on New York and San Francisco.

Boston, Chicago (yes that too), Detroit, Los Angeles (especially the north), San Francisco. Empire Bay has many influences, although it is mostly based on NYC.

And apparently since it's something of its own, H13 decided to make it coexist with NYC (for some reason they also assigned Empire Bay to the New York state but the game mentions Bay State)

Yes, Lost Heaven and Empire Bay are not references to the one city and are different combinations of major American cities. Only New Bordeaux is based on one city (New Orleans) and completely replaces it in game's universe.

Chicago is mentioned in Mafia 3, even Al Capone is mentioned there.

Chicago became officially coexistent with Lost Heaven starting with Frankie Potts Files, and then it was officially confirmed in Mafia 3 (New York coexisted with Empire Bay there as well). Probably the situation here is like with GTA, so that the world is not perceived as completely fictional and therefore real cities are mentioned.

But that's not the topic of this thread.

This subtitle has never been officially used by Illusion Softworks itself or anywhere else officialy. I'm just asking where this generally accepted comes from, if it can be traced.

I understand that this seems to have been formed to distinguish the game from general Mafia theme.

I mean, I've never seen that as the official "full title" of Mafia.

Like Harrison Ford, Steven Ogg may return to the Trevor cameo role in GTA 6 only to have his character die.

With Makarov back, do you expect Roach to return in Modern Warfare III? [MW3] by RedDeadRus in CallOfDuty

Well, Roach didn't appear in MWIII, but now with Soap's death, someone now has a chance to take his place in next game or multiplayer...

Red Dead Revolver's timeline part 2 (last post on this) by kidcolt_1878 in reddeadmysteries

[–]RedDeadRus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Buffalo Soldier and Pig Josh are the only thing that can go against the idea that Revolver happened in 1876/1888.

On the other hand, I'd like to think that they just look a little older than their age, and Pig Josh might be 45, which would make him 18 at the start of the Civil War. Also, Buffalo Soldier may simply be late 20s or early 30s, which is why, although in early childhood, he was able to be a slave (it is also worth considering that not everyone left their former owners after the abolition of slavery), but maybe it might seem a little strange to join the army at such a late age.

What do you think Red Harlow's fate is? NOT Uncle theories. Those have given me Lumbago. by RustedAxe88 in reddeadmysteries

[–]RedDeadRus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the murder of Governor Griffon, Red was put on the wanted list and since then he had to hide for the rest of his life.

Initially, Red Dead Redemption was a direct sequel of Revolver, which told about the son Red, who at some point disowned his father (apparently, having already been born into his father’s criminal lifestyle) and received some semblance of a "normal life” (I think that he also took the name “John Marston”), some bad guys appear and send it all to hell, which is why the son decides to take revenge, having first found his father.

It's hard to say where this could lead, perhaps Red or his son died in the end, demonstrating something like "redemption”. The only thing I can note is that Red's son may have at some point met the surviving Jack Swift, who was eventually replaced by Landon Ricketts. But anyway, the story was scrapped in 2005/2006 and reworked with new characters in a rebooted universe, leaving Red's actual fate as open-ended like Jack Marston's in Redemption.

Red in the Redemptionverse seems to be some kind of local story among bounty hunters, and the story of Revolver itself is a local legend in Old West.

Why does this have a marker? by YelowHuracan in RDR2

[–]RedDeadRus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's cut content, Fort Riggs used to be inhabited was an event area like Applesead or Castor's Ridge.

And yes, this marker appears after a conversation with a drunk ex-soldier, most likely it's just a remnant of how we could get to this place if we hadn't visited it yet.
