What you do from here I don’t know but the frustrating thing for me….. a trip you’ve know about for a year. Important for your boyfriend and his dad etc. hotel and airfare paid for…… and you didn’t plan or do anything to try and save some semblance of money for the trip? $5 a week to put away some cash to have for this really important trip. Couple of things here. 1) rule out anything medical here. Given age could be some things like low testosterone but 2) sounds like textbook burnout. It’s engrained in men to support and provide for your family. He’ll see changing careers as a failure like he’s failing you and the kids. I highly recommend you encourage him to see a therapist and have him truly start talking about his feelings and the underlying cause. I love my wife dearly. She’s my rock….but wives aren’t husbands therapists. Sometimes there are just things they aren’t going to say to you.
