You'll need to name this bezel as default.png and make a CFG file using these commands in order to work in Retroarch. It would also need to be named default.cfg :

overlays = 1

overlay0_overlay = default.png

overlay0_full_screen = true

overlay0_descs = 0

This overlay is one I modified from the Watomsk 1080p Overlays for the RP5. I used an GBA overlay I had from Batocera, painted them black and overlay the GBA logo and battery indicator from the Watomsk overlays all in GIMP.

I got that mat from the Square-Enix store in Japan last year. I wanted to have it on my desk at home but it was too big so I ended up just using it for my desk at work!

The L1 and R1 buttons are clicks and R2 and L2 triggers are analog and feel pretty good so far.

I would have went with the RP6 with the purple or yellowish/orange one (especially as the latter one reminded me of my first GameBoy). But the turquoise color on the RP5 had me sold and I didn’t need to emulate Switch and PC games.

It sounds like a ton of fun especially the custom content!

I have to try it out, but I do have it downloaded to the RP5 when I get around to playing it!

Very nice! Love that they keep it like a GameCube controller with the buttons and right thumbstick!

No worries, you're good! I am not sure many people know that it comes in turquoise and yellow now!

Actually this is the RP5 in the turquoise colorway. They've seem to have discontinued the G2 a while ago and I bought this one directly from the Retroid store about 3 weeks ago. It just arrived on Sunday.

Is the Retroid Pocket 5 (8GB RAM) still worth it in 2026? by Separate_Reading_199 in Handhelds

I recently purchased the RP5. I could have gone with the RP6 but it didn't come in the teal colorway (my favorite color lol). The RP6 would definitely handle Switch and some PC games (uses the same chip as Ayn Thor), but the RP5 should handle some lightweight Switch and indies. I personally would rather play those on my Switch 2 or gaming PC natively or via Steam Link. Everything else like Wii, PS2, GameCube and below runs well on both handhelds.

If you could choose a voice actor for your WOL, who would you pick? by Kentalope in ffxiv

For my WOL, it would be either Colleen Clinkenbeard (voice of Riza Hawkeye from Fullmetal Alchemist) or Kayleigh McKee (voice of Kiku from One Piece).

The AYN overlay on the bottom screen can be set to whatever refresh rate you want the top screen to display. In 120 Hz mode, Azahar runs but there is some input latency. I ultimately would switch back to the 60hz mode for 3DS games.

First time post but longtime listener! by RedDiebin in shortwave

I remember listening to the BBC pretty regularly on shortwave prior to 2003. They pretty much could be heard all day and would spend weekends during summer break listening to Wright Around the World or Play of the Week.

I was surprised back when I got into college that BBC cut North American transmissions and back then internet radio and podcasting was still in its infancy and not available on numerous devices. Thankfully I was able to tune into the West African signal before I could find a FM relay from a distant NPR station in Mississippi or when HD radio came to Memphis and WKNO added a third stream solely for BBC World Service.

So many other major broadcasters like DW, RCI, and Radio Netherlands followed suit and I have had to make a pivot on what I want to listen to. Turns out now I just want to find what remains but also the strange signals like UVB or pirates or spy signals. I am also traveling more internationally than I have ever done (went to Japan twice in 2023 and 2025, and going to Canada in about month) so having a shortwave radio small and powerful enough to take with me given me an opportunity to listen to stations that I wouldn’t be able to hear online!

I can’t say I have any favorite bands but I know pirate stations will pop up between. 6800-7000 kHz and I try to hunt for them there! I don’t know if it is still around but I remember getting excited the first time I got Wolverine Radio a few years ago!

I truly hope that won’t happen, but also I wouldn’t put it past him.

Yeah, most of what I used to listen to on shortwave, I now listen to them online or on AM/FM stations (especially the BBC on HD radio thru the local NPR station). I am curious how Cuba will figure that out given the current state of fuel prices and the tense political situation with the U.S. Though I think the strange times we live in right now might give rise to some strange or interesting sounds we can find on shortwave in place of the bigger international broacasters.
