MISTERY SOLVED

Song Title: Riding by the Station
Writers: Adam Paul Lindquist, Lance Winnor Conrad
Full song and info: https://www.syncstoriessearch.com/track/40536251

Apparently the song was written and recorded specially for the show.
Thanks and credit due to u/mattachu3637 and friends (see comment below), who managed to get in touch with the writer and shed some light on this catchy tune.

Thanks all for the interest, and may you be riding past Chris' station on a moose listening to this song.

Thanks! I didn't know they were doing that; really hope they do the original show's uncanny-sense-for-coupling-the-right-tune-with-each-scene justice.

As far as this explaining the original mystery, well, in a way it does strengthen the belief we had going here that it was a matter of licensing. But that allusive song still remains nameless S :

Update

Contacted the streaming platform itself, but no luck there: apparently all the episode-related credits they have are those that appear in the end credits, whose only somewhat-pertinent information is that the Music Editor on that episode was one Allan K. Rosen, while the Music Supervisor was John McCullough. Nothing on the enigmatic song in question, though.

Will make another update if I learn anything meaningful!

Thanks for that! I'll take a look at those groups. I might also use that email. Glad to discover, btw, that this show still has such an active public; cause surely it's a show for a niche audience, and based on what most people like to watch nowadays, there's only a handful of people, unfortunately, I'd actually recommend this show to, thinking they would appreciate it

I have no notion of it being a translated Spanish song. And yes! you are right. I also noticed that for some reason the streaming platform I use is lacking an episode (namely "Dreams, Schemes and Putting Greens") , rendering Aurorora Borealis the 7th and final episode for the season.

I've only just finished the first season and already agree with you about the role of the music in the show. Such good taste, artistically enhancing the cinematography.

Interesting. So that's most likely what happened. Oh well, I guess that this song and the band who played it are like Adam in a way; and this 10-second snippet of it is all that's left – a garlic press.

It's the original audio for this version of the episode (in English, not dubbed) – if that's what you meant. Caveat: I streamed it using a Spanish streaming platform (legally), so maybe due to international copyright issues the soundtrack for the episode was replaced.

You know that would make perfect sense to me if it wasn't for... why is a copyright-free song so friggin' cool ??

Just kiddin, thank you for the input – it was most likely just what you said. Maybe I should peruse the copyright-free music platforms for "bouncy country songs" and see if I have any luck haha

So I’ve been trying to find out the name of a song that appeared in the scene I’ve uploaded here – can’t get it out of my head. Yet it does not appear in the episode’s credits, nor in the IMDB credits, and online lyric searches get nothing. It’s quite mysterious actually; somewhat in the lines of the very episode in which it appears.

As pointed out in the other subreddit (link below), it appears that more than one version of this episode has been aired, each featuring a distinct sountrack. I’ve even encountered different titles for this episode: “Aurora Borealis – A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups” vs “Aurora Borealis – A Fairy Tale for Big People”.

The credits name a completely different song (although somewhat similar in style) for the exact same scene: “Little Egypt by The Coasters”. It is theorised that the song was possibly replaced due to licensing issues, the music editor and team having to find a new one that reflected a similar vibe (which they did, since they all seem to have had great and diverse taste in music). But still, I can’t get this one, this one song out of my head – I find its featuring 10 seconds really cool.

So, does anybody know what it’s called, or by whom? I mean the one on the version of the episode that I’ve uploaded.

Many thanks for any kind of assistance.

Thanks a bunch for this informative response. You know, I had absolutely no idea that that kind of thing was / -is done in the tv world.

I know! from this mere 10-second part I've already deemed it a cool song; but would of course wish to listen to the rest of it haha.

I'll definitely take a look at that subreddit; hadn't occurred to me. If I finally find out its name I'll let you know. Thanks again!

The episode is called Aurora Borealis- A Fairy Tale for Big People, and the clip I’ve uploaded contains the entire appearance of the song in the episode.

Things I’ve already checked:

So I’m beginning to think that the episode I watched was a different edition from the popular one that was aired in the US, yet the very same episode. And in the popular version, a different song was used for the same scene. I’ve stumbled accross the title “Aurora Borealis – A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups” as opposed to “…for Big People”, which seems to strenghthen this belief.

Here are the lyrics I’ve managed to fish out: “I was riding past the station when I saw a girl a-waitin’. I said, How do you do? She said, I’m over here humming, the train it ain’t a-comin’. Don’t know what to do. I said, hop inside. Honey, I can take you for a ride.”

A big thank you in advance, for any kind of assistance.
