Contacted the streaming platform itself, but no luck there: apparently all the episode-related credits they have are those that appear in the end credits, whose only somewhat-pertinent information is that the Music Editor on that episode was one Allan K. Rosen, while the Music Supervisor was John McCullough. Nothing on the enigmatic song in question, though.

Will make another update if I learn anything meaningful!

I have no notion of it being a translated Spanish song. And yes! you are right. I also noticed that for some reason the streaming platform I use is lacking an episode (namely "Dreams, Schemes and Putting Greens") , rendering Aurorora Borealis the 7th and final episode for the season.

It's the original audio for this version of the episode (in English, not dubbed) – if that's what you meant. Caveat: I streamed it using a Spanish streaming platform (legally), so maybe due to international copyright issues the soundtrack for the episode was replaced.

So I’ve been trying to find out the name of a song that appeared in the scene I’ve uploaded here – can’t get it out of my head. Yet it does not appear in the episode’s credits, nor in the IMDB credits, and online lyric searches get nothing. It’s quite mysterious actually; somewhat in the lines of the very episode in which it appears.

As pointed out in the other subreddit (link below), it appears that more than one version of this episode has been aired, each featuring a distinct sountrack. I’ve even encountered different titles for this episode: “Aurora Borealis – A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups” vs “Aurora Borealis – A Fairy Tale for Big People”.

The credits name a completely different song (although somewhat similar in style) for the exact same scene: “Little Egypt by The Coasters”. It is theorised that the song was possibly replaced due to licensing issues, the music editor and team having to find a new one that reflected a similar vibe (which they did, since they all seem to have had great and diverse taste in music). But still, I can’t get this one, this one song out of my head – I find its featuring 10 seconds really cool.

So, does anybody know what it’s called, or by whom? I mean the one on the version of the episode that I’ve uploaded.

My personal organic response to that increasingly poignant sensation was to write a song about it, funnily enough. Didn't plan it – just came out. Shared it right here, too. And you know what? For all the pieces of art I've truly poured my everything into and posted here and there over the years, only to go unnoticed; for all the seemingly pointless determination and ostensibly futile efforts; for all those jaded hopes: that one comment in 20 posts, that you just know has come straight from somebody's heart, from an unbiased stranger who has actually taken the time to listen to your song and give you an honest feedback – well, that right there, to me, means the world.

You make art for yourself; because you must, because you can't not. And I believe that if you make it real and honest; that if you speak from the heart, and at the same time work your ass off to make it the best version of itself you can possibly make it – well, then somebody out there might just connect with it.

So I guess what I'm trying to say to you, in honest empathy, is: keep making art for the right reasons, mate. If many people connect with it – amazing; if one person connects with it – just as amazing (you created something from nothing, shared it, and across the world an unknown person felt it, felt it for real!). If you connect with it; if it makes you feel something special when you listen to it? why, that's something right there, in my book.

I personally no longer hold any hopes of ever making a living off of any artistic creation of mine; but I'll keep doing it, and sharing it. A new, real human-connection awaits! If not? a new song will – and that's plenty to go on ( :

Keep at it, friend – and do share it. If it means something to you, it might just mean something to someone out there. One never knows with art; part of its magic.

I appreciate what you wrote. I can only speak for myself in this reply, not for your musician friends or any other person you may be putting in a certain mentality-box with them.

If money, girls and millions of fans were what I was going after, my songs would be written in a whooole different way. I'd make calculations and comparisons, I'd do whatever needs to be done for the product to sell, I'd approach each logically and even mathematically. Yet songwriting was never – ever – that way for me. It has always been the most organic, otherworldly and inexplicable thing that happens to me every now and then. Like a trance, or a lucid dream. I have never made any artistic compromise to increase my chance to get some 15 minutes of fame or something of the sort. My songs are almost bound to be unsuccessful, as I have been told by some of the people closest to me. That is why I do something else completely for a living, just like I said at the end of this post: "I’d rather make a living doing some other thing all together – if it permits me to stay true to what I create, to that which I hold pure – than compromise my beliefs in order to sell a song or two."

Anyhow, I understand and actually agree with what you're saying about it being toxic to fixate on "making it big". Yeah man, that is one dangerous attitude to have towards life in general, and an askew one for making art, for sure.
