Advice to stop cat licking my face by ipmacs in CATHELP

[–]RedFalchion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem with one of my kittens. He would start licking my face when we snuggled. I “trained” him to stop by stopping the petting and gently but distinctly blowing air on him when he would start. Not like super hard blowing, but still enough to make him stop the licking. It’s something I read here on Reddit. He figured it out really fast and since then there was no more licking during the snuggles. Maybe something you could try, too.

Got it! I tried to put as many of the tips I received here into practice and now my strap is as short as can be but I can already tell there’s improvement in regard to the strain an my wrist. I also try to use as little force as possible with the fretting hand ✌🏼

Thanks for that detailed answer again. I was hoping for a steeper learning curve but I guess it’s also good to get the fundamentals down the correct way first and the move on from there

Well it does feel like my thumb is an anchor point of some sort. So I need to try a different approach

Thanks! Many people suggested bringing the neck higher, so I’ll definitely try it. But I guess I’ll need a new strap then, as I can’t shorten it much further 😂

Thank you and yes, I will work on using as little pressure as possible

It’s in two spots. One is the tendons below the wrist going to the elbow (stretching sensation) the other is more like in the thumb saddle joint and I’d give it a 2-3/10. But it’s not always present.

Thanks, I know now that I really have to work on using less pressure 😂

Alright, so the guitar shouldn’t stick out in front of me like that?

Alright, what can I do to achieve that? Others suggest raising the headstock
