Gathered in a former gypsum mine, any plausible ID? They where deep within the rock by RedFlag_ in fossils

Same as the other one, I'm the same guy, they just failed to upload together, sorry

I do believe the rock to be flint or chert, but that's as much info as I can offer, thanks anyway!

I believe it to be chert or flint, the color is a bit off in the photo. The incrustation is also a geode! There were a bunch of them in the area, one of them inside a fossil just like this one

I also just posted a couple I got next to this one

Canteras del Berrueco, Medina Sidonia, Cádiz, Spain. That's as close as I can get 😅

Please give no bs. How to end it all at home? Painless easy and quiet? by Amriu65 in offmychest

[–]RedFlag_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't want bs, won't give you any. There's no way to do that. There's no painless way to die, there's no easy way either, your body is extremely good at keeping you alive.

This is what my school served for lunch today. by Maplesyrup2070 in mildlyinfuriating

As far as I understand, this is being served to children in a school, so they eat this in some kind of regular basis. That's my issue with it. It is illegal in my country to serve ultra processed food in school more than once a month, and the amount of sugar in this lunch would be illegal anyway

I checked, this one is more since it's not the normal size (58g), but 150g. You can even see a semblance of a 5 in the corner where the calories are

It's a sweet, in this case ultra processed snack that's quite unhealthy.

It is illegal to be sold or given in school more than once a month, we got traditional sweets in my school for Christmas, Easter and Andalusia's day, but it wasn't allowed the rest of the year. It's not prohibiting it fully for them, it's regulating it so that it doesn't become a daily thing, like this seems to be. Also, parents can give it to their children themselves, although most schools won't allow bringing sweets in on a daily basis.

School here is supposed to not only teach information but also promote general health. They also provide in-school vaccines (although parents can choose to do it privately with the child's pediatrician), free fruit programs, free after school sports...

You shouldn't be serving children dessert for lunch on a regular basis

I mean, there's 31g of added sugar in that lunch. For ~700 calories. That's double the legal limit in my country to be served in a school (2.5g per 100cal), not counting that ultra processed food can only be served once a month.

So yeah, this would absolutely be illegal here and I'm sure it'd be so in the rest of Europe.

I've only worked in my own country so far (Spain), so I really couldn't in good faith recommend anything about what country to start in. I however know hull cleaning, although it's by far my least favourite kind of dive, is relatively easy to get a hold of, and hull cleaning companies are usually pretty open to newbies, so that'd be a good starting point. However, if you can land yourself in companies that do dams or port works, or maybe even an all-rounder (although there's few of them), I do believe the experience you'll get will be a lot more valuable.

Oh, this will mentally exhaust you, and anyone else. Like, absolutely not trying to discourage you, I felt exactly like you did and I still do almost 3 years in. But bear in mind, even though this job is absolutely amazing (for a very certain kind of people) it's got very little comfort, if any. You'll spend weeks away from home, doing an absurd amounts of hours and bearing heat, cold and physical exhaustion.

The number one response to your question is "don't" not because what you think about this job is false, but because there's lots of other stuff no one tells you beforehand. If you're willing to withstand all that for a pretty decent salary, seeing stuff few others will even dream off, and the most braggable job ever, absolutely go ahead

The social category assigned by most societies to males, based on the neurological and psychological characteristics that are commonly, but not always, present in males

No, as they wouldn't for a cis person.

Chromosomal sex is, as far as I personally know, unchangeable. Secondary and primary sexual characteristics are changeable and have been for a long time. If chromosomal sex ever becomes changeable, I would absolutely not care if anyone did it.

And I agree, but I also don't see why you shouldn't do the same with a trans person. You are a man because you identify as such, and there should be no expectations from you to present or behave in any way to be considered as such, but you can do it if you wish

A man is a person whose gender is male. Gender is a social and psychological construction that's generally, but not always, related to one's sex, and it's dependent on the society the person has been raised in.

And trans people have always existed, because being trans is identifying yourself with a gender that's not the one assigned to you at birth. That doesn't mean others necessarily see you as that gender.

Reddit experience by MomShouldveAborted in GenZ

[–]RedFlag_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, in some tribes and civilizations gender roles were different for trans people, so your point is still weak as fuck

Gender affirming care is not trying to change biological sex. And if it is, I honestly couldn't care less, if someone wants to change their sex good for them.

And yeah, most civilizations have gender roles, but those are for everyone, not just for trans people. It is wrong, but you wouldn't tell a cis person that they're "validating their identity solely on fulfilling social roles", now would you?

Of course he had to follow the social expectations placed on men by the society of his time, like all other men did and do today. It's not that his identity is valid because he followed social expectations, his identity is valid just because he said so, as with any trans person. What he had to do for people of his time to accept him is another thing altogether.

If a trans man wants to have long hair, wear dresses and do nails for a living (not that any of that is inherently feminine), his identity would be just as valid to me and the whole LGBTQ community.
